Tree limb & foliage overgrowth between 2898 S. Sare Rd. & 2751 Spicewood Lane. Exiting off Spicewood Ln., tree in between above addresses obstructs clear view of approaching traffic heading south on Sare.
With students returning, I've noticed an uptick in traffic speeding down North Washington between 12th and 10th street. I feel like the problem is only going to increase as the new apartment building at 714 N Walnut is completed. With several children that play in the neighborhood, I'm concerned with their safety. Can traffic calming measures be investigated for this area?
Turns onto 3rd street from Overhill Drive are very, very dangerous! It is basically a turn into a 5 lane road. I was going southbound on Overhill Drive making a left turn onto 3rd, but I was unable to see incoming traffic from eastbound 3rd street which was being blocked by cars stopped at the stoplight on westbound 3rd st. They frequently have to slow down to let me in and sometimes I have to swerve my car into the center lane to avoid an accident. The problem with that though is that sometimes westbound people on 3rd street wanting to turn left on Woodcrest Drive speed through the middle lane and almost crash into me while I am turning left onto 3rd street. It seems like the connection between Overhill Drive and 3rd street should be blocked off because there is no traffic light onto the 5 lane road which has high traffic, and due to the stoplight at 3rd/Woodcrest, all the stopped vehicles are blocking the view of oncoming traffic.
Tapp Road And Rockport Road needs to have a signal light . It is overwhelmed as a 4 way stop sighn and creates a huge backup during busy times. Tapp road will need to be a 4 lane hwy soon.
The new traffic light's timing is too short for traffic traveling east/west on Bloomfield Road. At best it stays green for 20 seconds before switching to red to let 1 or two cars from the Sportsplex/Millennium Apartment's go. Traffic westbound is worse than it was before the installation of the light, somehow.
New stop light at Rolling Ridge way had traffic on 2nd street backed up to The Eye Center at 5:10pm. Usually takes around 10 minutes for me to get home it was 20 due to the poor timing of the new light. There was a time around 5:20pm where the light was only green going down 2nd street for a minute before it turned red. Safety concern as well for ambulances trying to get down 2nd street (especially by the co-op where there is cement barriers in the middle of the road). Will be a huge concern when 37 (I-69) 2nd street ramps under construction in a few months.
New light at intersection of w. 2nd and Twin lakes rec center is too short and causing major delays to the east.
The new stop light on second street at the Sports Complex is causing traffic to back up in both directions at 8 am and 5 pm. If the light were to be flashing during those heavy traffic times, it would be a tremendous help. I work at the IMA building on Landmark Ave. I couldn't even get out of the parking lot for 10 minutes last evening. It took another 10 minutes to get to the stop light. This is not acceptable. Good Evening, Since the light at Ridgeway (I'm pretty sure that's the st, it's right in front of Twin Lakes Gym) and 2nd Street started working on Monday traffic in the morning, but especially in the evening, has been horrendous on 2nd St. It is now currently taking me about 40 minutes to get from the IU Campus to Eller Rd when leaving campus around 5:15. Traffic is bumper to bumper from 2nd and Rogers until after the new light. I feel like this is not just a ridiculous amount of traffic for a city the size of Bloomington, but that it is creating dangerous traffic situations. I'm afraid it's going to cause accidents.
