Dear City of Bloomington Representative, Last night’s torrential rain brought a lot of water down our driveway from the street, some of which eventually ended up in our finished basement. We've lived at this address since 2009, and this has been a problem we've lived with since then. We’ve spent almost $15,000 on waterproofing our basement, installing storm drains at the bottom of our driveway, halfway down our driveway, and installing a berm on top of the driveway. Still, water that runs down the Anita Street takes a hard right into our driveway and overwhelms our systems. Anita Street slopes south to north, after it has turned from the east to west slope of East 2nd street. We believe a majority of the water coming down Anita Street actually ends up in our driveway. A lot of the water from the street also collects in the yard of our neighbor, Allyson Youat Schnable. Water that has come into our basement has damaged equipment, furniture, boxes and their contents, and is a threat to our foundation. I believe we have exhausted our options to comprehensively deal with the amount of storm water that is presented to us. We would love for the city to address the water coming down the street. The street light has been out for weeks. I reported it but nothing has happened. It is dangerous to walk past there at night since visibility is low. I tried to report this directly to Duke Energy but their website won't accept it.

Street Light on the NW Corner of E Hunter and S High St has not been working for several months. I reported it a couple of months ago and was contacted about it, but it has still not been repaired.

Just wondered if there was a way to find out about drinking water advisories and boil orders that aren't checking this website every day. Is there such a thing as signing up for a text alert for this service? Thanks for your time.

Street light at corner of High & Hunter not working. Lights church entrance and is an area where many students walk through at night. Light starts to come on, but stays very dim or goes back off.

Crosswalk needs a vertical sign to caution drivers to slow down and respect crosswalk. This is at Hunter and High St.

The streetlight at the corner of S Anita St and 1st St frequently turns on and off during nighttime hours, rendering the street very dark.

Neighbors are wondering what this metal black box is, zip-tied to the entrance of the Eastside Neighborhood (where Hunter turns into the walking path on Mitchell). Is this something the City has installed and, if so, what is it? If it is not City-sanctioned, can it be removed? It's a little creepy. Thank you on behalf of Eastside neighbors.
