Two sinkholes have formed, one at the corner of Claybridge Dr and Sare Rd, the other about 30 ft up the sidewalk on Claybridge, after recent neighborhood groundwork that had been done by the contractor for Bloomington Gigabit Now Fiber project. The sinkholes are a hazard to pedestrians and are in need of repair as soon as possible.
The portion of my property with a utilities right of way and that I am maintain is now blocked in a hazardous way. I open my gate as of yesterday May 2, 2024 to a deep 2-3 foot hole that now has 2 large pipes sticking up above ground level constituting a direct hazard to my rightful access. The company (Flagship Underground-phone: 773-964-9045) claims to be laying fiberoptic cable and said they were trying to locate the sewer and gas lines. What can you do to have these pipes moved and/or buried so that they not blocking my gate and presenting a tripping and access hazard? Thank you, Martha Nyikos
My neighborhood located between Sherwood Oaks church and Jackson Creek middle school is currently undergoing placement of fiberoptic cables. I strongly prefer to not have this done in my yard. My neighbors seem to feel the same. It's already been done recently with Smithville (last year). They nearly hit a gas line in my neighbor's yard two houses over in our cul de sac. They did hit a water line in the yard across the street from us in the cul de sac. They seem to dig without much regard for our approval and preferences as homeowners. Smithville is installing lines in my neighborhood. The road itself is narrow and for most of tosd, parking is allowed only on one side. The contractor ignores the no parking signs. They park large pieces of equipment illegally over night ehen they could park legally. They have also blocked us in by having equipment in the middle of the road with the other end closed. I understand that they need to have equipment where it is needed when they are working in the day, but not at night
The company, installing fiber optic cables on my St., South, Lori Lane, destroyed my drainage that goes underneath my driveway. We are in a flood zone, and if this isn’t corrected my driveway, which is gravel, will wash away. I’m really shocked how careless the company was in excavating my property without fixing it. My house is at 80 S. Lori Ln.
Substantial disregard for property keeps occurring with whoever is laying fiber on E. Morningside. Water main burst at 4021 E. Morningside Drive. CBU dug up my yard to do repair. Please confirm that will be fixed by CBU via spring planting season for grass, etc.? The fiber team, if you can provide me contact information for a complaint if possible, was driving their truck through my yard today again including over areas CBU dug, causing significant depressions. When called out when I went out front a few minutes ago, they asked "What damage?" before I had to point it out and they said they would fix. A truck remains driving back and forth in my front yard at present. I am tempted to call the police. They are beyond any sort of easement, which they are abusing to begin with. This is getting ridiculous.
They had a water line or sewer line emergency at 719 W 7th and contractors tore up a lot of sidewalk on the South Side of W 7th Street in front of the house. Who is responsible for repair or sidewalk? This happened Thursday night and continued all day Friday 12/15. Contractor was Snedegar Construction.
The fiber optic guys are here AGAIN! The are digging and drilling through our property. They asked if they could take down some of our fence to do their work. They admit they are back because they did not do a good job BEFORE. Our issue - we are concerned of that these contractors will damage our property sewer and/or water lines and we will be the ones stuck to deal with the aftermath of repairs and expense of repairs. Issue 2 - We have no idea on how to communicate with these guys!! What are our RiGHTS! Can you guys help us out? We feel helpless!
This is in reference to an issue reported back in November - Case 186167. AEG was in our neighborhood in over three months ago, and left a haphazard trail of pipes sticking out of the ground, holes covered with thin sheets of plywood, and yards torn up and muddy. Can our neighborhood please have some sort of an update as to when they will be back to finish the job they started? Will yards be repaired and reseeded by this coming spring?
