Drainage or Runoff

Issue - rain water is collecting and pooling in front of our home. We believe that it is caused by drainage system built on the "high" side of the road that is poorly engineered and inadequate for this area.
Solution - we would like to discuss what it would take to get a curb with an inlet that would connect to the drainage system across the road.

The neighbors in shadow creek would like to see the city be more proactive in persuading the owner of this building lot to keep the grass mowed and remove the invasive trees that have grown out of the ponding water. The ponding happens after each rain and is a health issue for the residents, and a safety issue for kids on this street. This lot has looked like this for years as the 2 doctor investors that owned it previously were not inclined or forced to maintain it or properly fill it in.
Anything you can do to help protect our property values by threatening fines and actions against the owner would be much appreciated.
thank you, shadow creek residents.

There is a lot of overgrowth between some properties and some drainage issues with standing water days after it rains.

Desperately need the leaf vacuum to grab the leaves around the intersection of Blair and 11th. I scooped up the ones that had completely blocked all 5 storm drain grates at the intersection, but without removing the leaves from the rest of the street they will just wash in and block them up again with the next rainstorm. Last time they were blocked was in the spring, and they caused the water to jump into our yard and flood our basement.

Hello,
There is water coming up from under the paved surface of the city hall parking lot. The water leak is located in the east-most visitor parking spot -- where the drain is located. I have observed this constant flow of water multiple times, over multiple months. It is currently being used as a bird bath...

Fire Department: There are several fire hydrants (on Jordan Extension and other places) not marked in the middle of the road with blue reflectors.
2. On two occasions I have seen tanker trucks filling up orange road barriers with water. Seems risky to take the water from those trucks for any other purpose than fighting fires.

Hello,
I have made a written suggestion today related to the requirement to be present in your Utilities premise (or file a paper form) to request a transfer of billing for water services. I suggested we should be able to do this online...
I had to deal with the same issue today at Duke Energy (tenant left and needed to transferred billing back to me, the landlord). They told me of a very useful process they have setup called "auto turn-on", which lets them know that whenever a tenant requests a turn off, they should actually transfer the service back to the landlord instead of turning it off.
I suggest you do the same thing for the water service!
Thank you.

Thanks to the City’s recent quick action of cutting City’s dead tree in front of our house, now it looks much better. Here we just want to give City some advise in choosing the new tree plant location. It seems to us that the dead tree stump must be removed completely in order to replace a new one in the spot, due to the underground gas and water pipelines heavily laid around the tree stump, which makes it very difficult for you to chose another new plant location. We learnt this from the opposite newly house built situation. There were so many red flags around the dead tree stump. So in order to prevent from touching those gas line and cause the gas explosion, City must do it very carefully . Thank you very much for your prompt attention.
