Due to near wrecks from cars drifing into other lanes, would like lane markings painted in two areas: 1) The portion of Henderson which crosses Atwater and extends to Third Street, and 2) the left turn lane after the light at Third & Dunn, which feeds into the above section.
Wiring in Cascades South shelter is substandard. The wiring has been torn out by vandals and bare live wires exposed. Feels apparently the city can get around passing inspection -- he also contacted BPD.
Mr. Lord expressed concern about the "man-made" potholes around the city. He realizes that he does not live in the city, but still spends money here and is tired of running into these potholes. He wanted to suggest manhole "spacers", the piece of equipment between the manhole cover and the pavement. Call made at approx. 2:00 p.m., August 20, 1997. Wants to know when the 9th Street park tennis courts will be repaired. There's only one net up, the lights don't work, and the courts are cracked!

Citizen has complaint regarding orange trash bags - they keep breaking. Says she's getting the runaround - called Commissioners, SWD, City and no one knows who's responsible.
Mefford (who builds swings) is upset that the police were involved in the high speed chase which hurt innocent bystanders. He feels chasing stolen cars at high speed is unnecessary. He will call injured family & offer to help pay legal fees if they sue the City. He hopes the Mayor does not condone these high-speed chases and he would like a call from the Mayor.
Commendation - Kid City Childs. Caller said she is very pleased with program. Counselors are wonderful! Would like to see swim lessons offered next year during camp.
Sherwood Oaks Park: The creek on the back of park has been dammed up (by kids, cty or parks? not sure?) and there is trash in it and a bad odor.
Mr. Lucas would like to know why new truck rt. (2nd & Allen) is NOT being used by trucks? He says that trucks use Allen St. b/c its a straight shot, w/ only 1 stop sign. He feels that trucks should be ticketed and fined so that they know "Blmgtn. has a police dept.". He says that the police need to monitor the speed limit, or someone is going to get hurt. This is a residential area, and he wants to see trucks using the appropriate route.
