Ms Ochoa left a voice message. She is trying to figure out how she can make the front of her house look better. She is the only person with an asphalt gully; all the others have pipes. She would like to make hers nicer by putting in a pipe but doesn't know if that will be allowed or how it would be done.
Ms McGough called last week and asked for any document we have for storm water work we have performed near her house to help resolve ongoing drainage complaints.
Cone and blocks are still in the storm drain on the north side of the house. This will cause pooling of water when it rains.

I have traveled High Street between Arden Rd. and 3rd Street twice a day for the last ten years. Every time there is a heavy rain, water accumulates and flows down High Street between E. Mores Pike and 2nd St. forcing me to move to the other lane to avoid going through large amounts of water creating a very unsafe situation. I was delighted to see this section of High Street repaved last summer and noticed the sewers also being worked on. I assumed, incorrectly, that the runoff problem would be corrected during this maintenance project. Since the paving the runoff has actually gotten worse. Are there plans to fix this unsafe situation so cars can travel safely on High Street without endangering drivers and pedestrians? I regularly see in the Herald Times where is city is allocating and spending money on hiking and biking trails, sidewalks and various pedestrian conveniences. My wife and I are owners of a home at 806 W. 4th St., here in Bloomington. We have owned this home since approximately 2006. Recently I had a conversation with John Kirtland, who is the owner of a rental property at 112 S. Maple. This property backs directly onto our Eastern property line to the rear of our home. Apparently, these two houses share a sanitary sewer line at some point, with the Maple St. house connecting downstream of our line, before connecting to city sewer line. This is a best guess, as I am not sure it has been verified. Mr. Kirtland is apparently having plumbing issues with his rental property, and is proposing that he disconnect our line. Understandably, I am concerned that this is not a solution that works for our house. I assume that this current sanitary sewer hook up for these homes has been in place for nearly 100 years, as our home was built around 1920. We have had the clay tile in our backyard dug and replaced with plastic a couple of years ago, although we only went for about 60 ft., until we could connect to functioning line. It has occurred to me that no action should be taken until CBU has been made aware of the situation and given your recommendation. Thank you for your assistance, George Bull and Faye Mark
Part of the Sheridan Creek drainage ditch has eroded or crumbled with asphalt breaking off and going who knows where. The problem areas that seem to need at least spot repaving are at the front of part of 1340 E Sheridan and the Sheridan part of 1000 S Jordan Ave
Good Morning, I called on Saturday night and spoke to someone, did not get their name, via the emergency number. He recommended I contact CBU on monday but I did not get to it until this morning. Situation is this: 6:15pm - My son and friend are playing near the creek/drainage ditch between Elliston Drive and E Dunstan. All of a sudden a big wash of water comes running down the ditch and proceeded to run for about 2 hours. Could be 3-6" deep roughly, best estimate. I called in and gentleman I spoke with asked that I take a video, which I did and can provide. I traced it back to a culvert outlet which was coming from Allendale. Looked in the inlets on Allendale and could see water was coming from the north and S. Dunstan. I walked up and could see evidence of water dripping from a truck (similar to the drips off the garbage truck). The drip path got bigger and wider until I saw water spill surrounding the top of a manhole in the middle of S. Dunstan at the dead end. I did also notice that there is a storm pond that was half full of water in the Acadia Court apartments. I do not recall enough recent rain to have filled that pond but it looked almost recently drained but hard to say. That's the story. I wanted to report because it seemed an odd time and weather for this to be happening. The water seemed odorless and in hindsight I wish I had got a sample. There may still be some pools with water if you want to investigate. The attached map shows the rough path and the smaller circle to the north is the manhole and the larger the detention pond behind the apartments. The smaller circle to the south is the culvert pipe outlet.
