Mr Pilachowski left a voice message on 7/24/14 indicating he had been forwarded by the Planning Dept. He was trying to find out if there is anything that regulates where drainage from downspouts on SFR can be directed.
Water on the south side of Bloomfield Rd has to uphill to drain.
She represents the Woolery Mills HOA. Indicated the resident at 2416 Woolery Mill Dr had water in their crawlspace last weekend. They checked and found a drain not functioning and didn't know if it was City responsibility. She emailed pictures.
Ms Kao contacted Jon Callahan and then me about the culvert under the drive at First United Church. She explained they want to do some improvements to make is safer to mow around the culvert and was hoping someone could give her some advice.
We have lived here for nearly 40 years and the creek water has never looked this bad. Yes, after a heavy rain, it is cloudy, but it hasn't rained for over a week. The water looks very dirty and there is a bad smell, as well. Not sure if this is the department to inform. If not please pass this along. Children play in the creek and there seems to be some type of runoff or other issue that is making the water look bad. Thanks
Sheila McGlothlin received a call from Mr Haney on Feb 6th advising "they have had a large plastic green pipe sticking out of their ground at an angle for about the past year. He was wondering the status of this pipe and what if anything will be done with it?"
Thanks Kelsey, The creek has been much clearer lately. I appreciate you following up. Usually when it is cloudy, it clears up in a day or two. I do watch it closely and will let you know, but unless you are able to get out right away, it may be difficult for you to see it when it is looking bad. Mr. Horvath, the sediment in Jackson Creek at Rock Creek Drive may have been a result of construction in the watershed. There is one construction project upstream from your location that may have contributed sediment in the past, but according to our Planning Department who manages the grading permits, that site has since been stabilized. I was in the area last week and observed some utility work being done in the neighborhood, but can't say if that was what caused the sediment in the stream on 2/2/2019. Drainage problems, customer would like a new culvert built. Per Tony Eads, I have assigned this to Phil Pedin in CBU Engineering Dept.
I received an email from Ms. Henderson stating the following: "Hi Jane. I want to post you on the condition of the storm water drain beehive in the City's drainage easement within the Brigs Bend cul de sac in Hyde Park. Specifically, I want to bring to your attention to the erosion around the beehive at the northeast corner of the two lots you looked at last year (2712 Olcott and 2737 E. Brigs Bend). On September 10, we had another heavy rain that created a flash flood in our back yard, flooding nearly up to our deck and again flooding Ginny Field’s storage unit under the house (the debris line on her door was just below the 25" mark, the highest level we’ve seen the water rise to). As you can see from the attached photos, the ground around the beehive is cratering as a result of the water erosion. This area is of increasing concern with regard to the potential hazard it presents to children, landscapers, and others who go near. Would you be able to take a look at it and advise? Also, could you please take a look at two small but growing holes (and a third depressed area that seems to be sinking) in the south corner of our lots near the tall, narrow green cable box. We are concerned that the this may be indicative of soil washing out along the storm water drain line. Again, your advice is appreciated."
Contractor wants to meet onsite to discuss a storm drainage prroblem and ways to correct it. Address: 2741 S Jalen Ct. Home sits below the curb line and has a swale in the backyard; both of which complicate the matter. The neighboring homes are all higher in elevation and drain straight to this property. Contractor would like to figure out a suitable correction that does not jeopardize CBU infrastructure, etc. Please contact him by phone today to set up a site visit.
