Construction workers from the path project here along Montclair near Southeast Park entrance left lots of debris behind along the sidewalk. They're long gone and didn't attempt to clean any of this up.
Fiber construction contractors (AEG?) were in our neighborhood (Sycamore Knolls) at the start of October. They've since moved on, but left open holes and piping sticking out the ground all over the place. These were visible, but with the falling leaves they have become numerous trip hazards spread throughout the neighborhood.
This is in reference to an issue reported back in November - Case 186167. AEG was in our neighborhood in over three months ago, and left a haphazard trail of pipes sticking out of the ground, holes covered with thin sheets of plywood, and yards torn up and muddy. Can our neighborhood please have some sort of an update as to when they will be back to finish the job they started? Will yards be repaired and reseeded by this coming spring?
There has always been speed limit signs across from my house and my neighbor’s house (2 specifically are no longer there). They have been taken down since all the construction of our new 10 ft sidewalks. They need to be replaced! Many people are driving 40-50 miles an hour down our street now! With our new extra wide sidewalks, our street has heavy pedestrian traffic in addition to the school just down the street. It may also be partly because it looks like a very wide open road with the huge sidewalks, people feel they can go as fast as they want. It has been 11 weeks since Millstone tore out my driveway and the sidwalk. It is still an awful mess. 3 weeks ago I got a notice from them that they would be replacing my driveway “this week”. It is still a terrible, muddy mess that struggle to drive through. No progress on the driveways anywhere in 6 days. FFS WHEN is this going to be completed? I want my damned driveway back. It’s almost September.
The tulip poplar planted along the S High St recreational path last autumn is showing no signs of life this spring. All of the other tulip poplars in the area are now fully leafed out. This is the last tree in the row that includes the yellowwoods north of Wimbleton St. Would love for it to be replaced this year. Thanks.
One of the new street trees planted by the city after the completion of the new north extension of the Jackson Creek Trail last fall has unfortunately died, and should be replaced. It is sending up suckers at the base, but I don’t think a large shrubby plant is what was intended. Tree is near the property line of the house on High and the house on the corner facing Wimbleton. This tension wire is a hazard for cyclists and needs to be well lit for better visibility in the dark. Reflectors on the wire and along the bend in the path would also add to the safety. I am a 7th grade student at Jackson Creek Middle School. I ride my bike to school every day on the High St recreational path at around 7:30 am. It is dark at that time and I use lights on my bike. On Friday, Nov 5, I was biking down the hill towards this spot. I was going fast down this hill to have enough speed for the uphill right past this spot. Unfortunately, even with my bike light, the tension wire and the sudden bend in the path is hard to see in the dark. My shoulder hit the tension wire and knocked me off my bike. My bike had minor damage to the seat.
So we're 15 weeks into our driveways being a mess of gravel and mud. And we have been patient about this, hoping that Milestone will give us what we had before. And yet most of these driveways are garbage.. Ok, but we are still without a driveway, without reasonable access to the street (while paying all those taxes) and still dealing with the sloth of Milestone. Congratulations, Mr Hamilton (Bank Lobbyist), you have created a new republican in Bloomington. You suck.
WHEN will Millstone finish this infernal "path" project? My driveway has been gone for well over a month and it's a mess of almost impassable soft gravel and mud. The easement is an eyesore and my wife can't get her car out of our driveway without bottoming out on the street edge. It's been like this since MAY. Who approved this mess???
