The Bloomington Police Department investigates after a city transit but struck and killed a woman near the bus station at the corner of Third Street, and Walnut, Thursday, September 26, 2019 in Bloomington, Ind. Police are not yet releasing the name of the women pending notification of next of kin. BPD Police Lt. John Kovach said, "At this time preliminarily it appears that the city transit bus was pulling out of the station when the victim was struck. She is a deceased. It is a female. I do not have any other information, age, or name or anything that we're going to release at this time, obviously due to next of kin notification. So at this point, the investigation is ongoing with our accident reconstructionists. I do not know when any information will be released for the accident. Potholes on the north & west painted crosswalks.

Cross Walk on 10th Street in front of Kelley. The city and IU buses use the bus lanes in front of the library, past the crosswalk. The private apartment buses have turned the crosswalk into a bus stop. The students wait there. A bus pulls up, stops to load/unload. Pedestrians wanting to cross are blocked and back up. East-bound cars are backed up. The bus will sometimes wait if they see one of their clients coming down the sidewalk. Stops range from 15 sec to 45 seconds. Once the bus moves, the pedestrian backlog has to get across. The walkway, while necessary, is obviously a bottleneck. Having a private bus stop and block it for no reason only adds to the problem. Make the private buses (and their riders) walk up to the bus pull off lanes like everyone else. The back up on 10th street is already at a failing level. There is no reason to let private apartment transit buses make it worse.

Would be great to have a street sweeper clean this street. Lots of Sweet Gum balls making walking hazardous. During spring break there are very few cars parked on this block. An excellent time to clean. Thank you!

City workers replaced the old electricity pole with a new one on 2/25/22. Now, some tree branches interact with the wires especially on both of the taped connections due to the new pole is much taller than the old one. It's potentially dangerous. Request to get that affected branch removed.

Street lamp has not worked for the last several weeks. It used to turn on in PM and off in AM now it is off at all times. Thanks

Our neighbors will not control their dogs. They constantly let them out on their porch above us and allow them to pee and poop which falls on our porch. They constantly have them off the leash and the dogs have popped in front of our apartment door and they made no attempt to clean it up. Today they had the dogs off the leash again and 2 of their dogs ran into our house as we were trying to retrieve our packages.

Entire city block is not lit on Washington between 6th and 7th streets. Streetlight #40 does not work at the corner of Washington and 7th Street. There are two additional street lights not working on Washington between 6th and 7th streets. One light is on the East side of Washington, the other light is on the West side of Washington. The entire block of Washington between 6th and 7th is pitch black at night as these three lights are all out of order. Light #40 appears to definitely be city maintained. Please advise if the other two lights are managed separately or by the city, as well as when the lights are anticipated to be repaired. Thank you!
