There is a large city tree -- a sugar maple -- in front of our house at 2321 S. Montclair. It's between the sidewalk and the road, near our driveway. The tree is dead and has started to lose limbs. I hope the city can send a crew to remove it soon.
A few years ago, Doug Fowler (arborist) suggested putting a support in the tree to help its stability. I paid for that support, so if possible, please ask the crew to leave it behind in case I could ever re-use it. Thank you!

The yard waste for my neighborhood was not picked up yesterday (or today). Several of us still have our yard waste at the street. Could you look into this issue for us please?
Thanks!

Do you maintain the Griffey Reservoir trails? The trails going from Meadowood through the woods no longer have chips on them. and in some areas, vegetation is now overhanging the trails. A couple of the direction signs seem to have been switched around a bit. A number of us here at Meadowood would be thrilled to have some maintenance done! Many thanks!

I am hoping you can help my daughter and granddaughter. She is having trouble in her neighborhood with vandalism, finding needles in her yard, vagrants, and more. Above her house in the front, and back, are pairs of shoes hanging from the power lines. Four pair to be exact. A known drug dealer was recently arrested in the property behind her home.
A request, please send a truck that can reach the low hanging power lines and cut down the pairs of shoes. While some say that this does not mark drug activity, I believe it does in this case and I believe that my daughter is in danger. Her address is 120 E Dixie St in Bloomington.
I appreciate your consideration. I live in Arizona and visit your city frequently. Recent events in the area where my daughter lives is troubling. So much so that she is selling the home and leaving the area completely.
Thank you for your help. If this is not the agency that can help, I would respectfully request that you forward this message to the proper authorities.

Bryan Park parking lots on Henderson Street.
The striping on these lots [especially the south lot] is nearly invisible. People are plopping their cars haphazardly and blocking the traffic pattern. Pleas re-stripe these lots.
Also, it might be helpful if there were signs warning parents not let their small children wander around the parking lots. This kids are very hard to see when backing out of a parking spot especially when driving a SUV.
Thanks

Ten days ago someone discarded two couches in the 300 block of S. Dunn St. on property maintained by the City of Bloomington. This is right by the off ramp from Atwater to S. Dunn St. I have seen a worker with a yellow, reflective Street Department vest mowing this property so I don't know who should take care of the disposal of the couches and cushions scattered across the lawn. I wanted to bring it to your attention. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks.

Dear Mayor Hamilton and the city of Bloomington,
I am contacting you and your office regarding the problem with the deer in our neighborhood. Once again, the deer are a problem for us and they are outright dangerous. I am not sure what the city is planning on doing with the problem, but I almost feel like I want to hire a sniper (and I am an animal lover) to get them off of our property or now purchase a BB gun. I am not a violent person, but I am at my wits end regarding this issue. Will the city only do something once a deer kills a child? I have heard of stories of dogs being killed by deer as well as homes being trashed by deer who have somehow gotten into somebody's home. The latest is that my wife got a broken ankle because of a deer and it required a trip to the ER at Bloomington hospital along with missed work for both of us. Luckily we have health insurance, but for those who don't...it is a very expensive endeavor that could have been avoided if the city would do something to cull these animals. Lately we have seen a herd of 8 deer roaming around Somax. I would like your opinion on how you plan to fix this problem because I do see this as a problem in our city and especially our neighborhood.
Also, I heard that the city has a 2 million dollar surplus this year and wondered if that meant we would finally get the sidewalk and repair of the dangerous culvert that has been promised to the former owners of our house as well as to us. Our taxes go up every year (Judy Sharp just assessed another increas of $50,000 to our home value which raised our taxes again quite drastically). We can't seem to ever get a break from her with her assessments every year and it is quite frustrating. Every year we pay more and more taxes and get absolutely nothing for it.
Again, I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Thanks.
Best,
Ingrid Faber
