Harold Evans e-mailed the department: this morning I read about one of your program offers in our local newspaper. Since I'm interested in water distribution in our city, I thought this tour of the many historical water sources in Bloomington could be worthwhile. The article directs us to sign up for this tour at our city website. There is no mention anywhere on that site about this particular event and many attempts to search for it were fruitless. I then contacted someone in your department by phone who didn't know anything about the event either. It seems to me that the signup process for events like this is so difficult that I really don't see how a sufficient number of people would ever be able to register in order to make the tour happen. If this is how you run your activity offers, I can see why you might look good to the city managers, but in fact, not be doing anything worthwhile at all. The way you are running your department, Mr. Renneisen, is a joke. It looks like this is another example of how our tax money is wasted on worthless politicians. Have a good and QUIET day. Kim Evans would like to know why the mowers have not been mowing the northern slope of Park Ridge East Park. It is becoming overgrown in areas we were previously able to walk.

Submitted on 11/11/10 by Sonya Thompson [email protected]: My husband and I are members at Twin Lakes Recreation Center. It is very nice, well maintained, and much cleaner under the Park and Rec than as Sportsplex. The equipment is great and each time I have had a questions, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. That being said, I want to tell you about 11/6/10. My husband went to workout and there was a basketball league or tournament going on late in the afternoon. A group of men were standing directly in front of the doors and had absolutely no consideration about smoking there. I want there on Sunday morning and the entire front walk was strewn with cigarette butts. This is absolutely disgusting! Smoking should not be allowed on the premises and if smokers choose to smoke, they should have to do so in their cars or completely removed from the property. This is a health facility with youth programs and the city should do more to protect the rights of non-smokers and further uphold the strict non-smoking policies of our city. Thank you for your attention to my concerns.

When is the yellow curb going to be pained in the 1100 block of W. 6th Street. People are parking making it difficult for traffic to pass.

I am not sure how the crime map works? I selected it and the left hand menu shows Bloomington, IN. HOwever, it remains on a US map and displays a modal pop-up that says "Please check the address for accuracy and try again." I was using Chrome.

The traffic signal on Walnut from 2nd street to 17th have lost sync, causing multiple stops along the route. Also, the loss of the overhead streetlights between 10th and 14th street on Walnut is disappointing. The doorway lights on the construction on the east side of the street serve to blind drivers more than it illuminates the area for safety.

Bye the water treatment plant on Shadyside Rd. The weeds were cut and left in clumps on the road. Dangerous for drivers and cyclists.
