There is a gap with no sidewalk on South Rockport Rd going down the hill after passing CountryView Apts. This is very dangerous, because you have to walk on the road which is on a hill into oncoming traffic to get to the rest of the sidewalk. I use this (broken) sidewalk alot with my children to go to the park. But after a close call of a car swerved to miss us & almost got hit by another car that was coming over the hill. I know alot of people use this sidewalk & its been long over due to be fixed. I hope this & more sidewalks in this area will be on the agenda this year. Thank You

Dell Douglas called this morning to voice her concerns about bicycles on the paths and sidewalks at Bryan Park. During the past 3 years she has noticed more dangerous conditions due to the speed of bikers on the paths in the park. Most recently, she was walking far to the right on the path near the stream and a family on bicyles nearly ran into her. They were moving so quickly she was unable to say anything to them. She feels there is more disregard for pedestrians walking in the park and is afraid someone will suffer serious injury if things don't change. She would appreciate a call back from Mick after 6/14. On Winslow there is a small hole that might be a manhole or something similar. I hit the hole nearly everyday as I make my way around the corner from Walnut Street Pike onto Winslow. Please check it out and see if it can be filled or the manhole cover can be raised. Thanks!

The property in question is at 3428 S. Leonard Springs Rd. I live in the Heatherwood mobile home community. My lot and several others lots sit next to this property. It is my understanding that Travis Lentz had owened it, but it is now in forclosure. He has not been there for quite some time. The side yard and back yard are now over grown. The weeds are 3-4 ft. high. With all the ticks and other issues, this is a perfect breeding ground for trouble. There is also trash and at least 2 trucks that have been sitting idle for I know a year. I would like some action taken before one of the kids get snake bit or rats and mice start. Thank you

I have been informed that the walking tour guide for Rose Hill Cemetery is a City of Bloomington publication, so I wish to report an error in it. The WWI statue in the cemetery is illustrated and described as Viquesney's "Spirit of the [American] Doughboy". It isn't. Attached is a photo comparing the two. The brochure is probably confusing the cemetery statue with the WWII Viquesney "Spirit of the Fighting Yank" in front of Monroe County Courthouse in Bloomington.
