This area does not have a left turn lane and I've been in multiple instances where the traffic has been backed up to the light because people are waiting to turn left. It seems when there are events or something at the Warehouse or Mill, traffic gets really bad. Any way to add a turn lane or remove the ability to turn left?
We have lived on first st since 2020 and our stretch of road (between the stop sign at Woodlawn and the one on Henderson) that our young child has to cross to get to his school bus stop is the only section of first Street residentially that has a big space between stop signs and no speed bumps. Because of this what I've noticed, since the speed bumps east of Woodlawn and first were put in, is people often speed on our stretch of road. There are two other families at our bus stop and they have noticed the same thing and often worry about crossing the street to either get to the park or the bus stop as a result. I believe we also need speed bumps on our stretch of road as it feels like drivers are now compensating and trying to make up for lost time.
There is a very dangerous vehicular traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave between Sheridan Dr and E Hillside Dr, especially near the Grimes & Woodlawn and Weatherstone & Woodlawn intersections. There is a blind hill on Woodlawn that greatly decreases visibility for everyone. North @ south-bound vehicles on Woodlawn regularly break the speed limit by 20+ MPH and have even seen estimated speeds of 70+ mph. Sometimes vehicles "floor it" on Woodlawn southbound from Sheridan Ln stop sign. The city should consider installing a STOP sign on Woodlawn @ Grimes intersection to decrease the speed of North & South-bound traffic on Woodlawn Ave. The city should also consider additional signage to protect pedestrians who are crossing from Weatherstone Ln to Bryan Park. I have almost been hit there several times by speeding cars and trucks. This is a primary route for cyclists, pedestrians, commuting students, and dog-walkers. Pedestrians and cyclists crossing Woodlawn anywhere between Hillside and Sheridan Ave risk injury and death by vehicles speeding up and down the blind hill. Traffic pattern change at 3rd and Mitchell near campus makes turning west onto 3rd street very dangerous. To pull up far enough to see westbound traffic you are looking out the back windows of the car and can't actively be watching for pedestrians walking east. Also, when cars turn east onto 3rd from Mitchell it completely blocks the view of oncoming traffic for those wanting to turn west onto 3rd.
I live north of the roundabout at Tapp Rd and Adams St. Almost every time I am entering the roundabout from the north, I am almost hit by a car coming from the west. Vehicles habitually drive very quickly into the roundabout and don't yield to traffic already in the roundabout. I often end up having to stop in the roundabout to avoid a collision, which can also be a traffic hazard. It seems that area would benefit from a speed bump for those entering the roundabout - especially from the west as they are generally travelling the fastest when coming from the highway.
Vehicle blockers broken on Ralston b-line spur on Ralston at both Madison and Bryan streets. Also there is still ice and snow on the b-line spur in the same location.
Latimer woods trail has a tree dropping dangerously large limbs onto the trail. Taking the trail clockwise, the tree is on the left just past the footbridge.
At the Twin Lakes Sports Park, there is a trail in the woods that goes behind the solar panels. A tree has fallen onto the trail, completely blocking it. The tree is near the entrance to the trail near a small bridge and the solar panels.
Bloomington's Twin Lakes Sports Park . There is a tree that has been blocking the walking trail behind the Solar Array farm for the past 3 months. It is located on the side of the Array where the creek is. Please fix, thank you.
On the trail through the middle of Bryan Park, just east of the boardwalk, there is a low hanging branch. It's even lower when it's wet. It's too low to safely bike under it and even someone who is not tall has to duck to walk under it. It should be taken down.
