Apparently the diesel - electric buses enter into a "regeneration" cycle under idle to somehow clean out the soot particulates in the diesel exhaust system. Hot exhaust burns out the soot, right? It stinks all to high hel** and fills the cabin with what smells like CO - filled exhaust. I fear being asphixiated while waiting for the warm bus to begin it's route. I open a couple of windows everytime I board. Is this an exhaust leak, or is pumping hot regenerative soot exhaust gases including CO into the cabin, er.. normal? This smells awful and scares me everytime I ride a bus in these conditions. Please provide proof this is not a danger or remedy this nasty smelling problem.
When the curb between the bike lane and car lane was reconstructed gaps were left in the pavement. Generally the pavement repair was not done to the standard usually expected of Bloomington roads.
I was driving east, trying to go straight through the Covenanter/College Mall intersection. I was in the eastbound straight lane right behind the stop bar. The signal did not detect my vehicle (a small SUV) and I ended up sitting through three light cycles (westbound traffic was getting a green, but not eastbound) before more vehicles came up behind me and then finally got a green light. I've experienced this same thing routinely on bicycle and I've learned to wheel over onto the sidewalk and push the button, but this was the first time it's happened to me in a car and I didn't really have any options other than to sit. The stormwater drainage ditch (also known as "Sheridan Creek") near the intersection of Sheridan and Karen continues to erode with chunks of asphalt going into stormwater drains. This was looked at a couple of years ago with a decision of "careful watching." It seems like it is now time to re-pave the culvert or put in a drainage pipe, consistent with what is at both ends of this ditch.

I'd like to request a Code Enforcement inspection of the property on Kendall Road where the trailer explosion occurred last summer. The damaged structure remains boarded up approximately one year later. Since then, the property appears to be used for long-term outdoor storage, including a large trailer and other oversized items. The lot increasingly resembles a storage yard rather than a residential property. Given the condition of the boarded structure, the continued presence of the large trailer, and the ongoing outdoor storage of large items, I am requesting that the City determine whether the property complies with applicable property maintenance, nuisance, and residential zoning requirements. If the trailer and other stored items are permitted, I would appreciate clarification as to how this use complies with residential zoning standards.
What appears to be a sinkhole or chasm has opened on my driveway. Under the small hole that developed on the surface, there appears to be 2-3 feet deep and at least 5 feet wide beneath. I'm concerned about damage to others' property as my driveway is shared with 418 Hillside. I'd like to at least get this area restricted to prevent accidents.
