Project to fix a problem for someone else created a problem for us - water draining poorly creating a muddy mess.

We would like to buy the lot recently given address 2950 Lakewood Ct. (47404). On the property line is a drainage outlet which creates a serious flow of water. I'm worried about erosion and would like minimally some rocks placed at the outlet. The photo shows where the water collects downstream of the drain.

The northwest corner of our yard has been inundated with water for the past several weeks. There is standing water as well as super-saturated ground. The water appears to originate from the utility strip between properties toward Clover. This does not appear to be related to rain or storm events. The water drains to the south, but the amount present doesn't lessen. This makes us think there is a leak in either a water main or a storm drain or another source. The saturation leads to worries about the mature trees along the property line coming over. The ground is boggy and one cannot walk or mow in this area. Your attention to this will be appreciated.

Hello, I reported water coming into our yard before.(uReport Case #177856) Your answer was that it was probably coming from neighbor's pool. That pool is to the southwest and they do indeed drain it into the yard, but it is not the source of water coming from uphill, close to properties on Clover on the northwest side of the yard. The water comes from somewhere close to 400 Clover Lane. As the property line and utility easement are wooded and covered with vegetation it is difficult to tell where the water originates, but it is clearly outside of our yard. As can be seen in the photo there are three dry creek beds (swales) feeding the area where the runoff water is pooling during a heavy rain fall. Cause of the pooling is the drain through a small ridge is eroded and clogged up. City needs to remedy this issue.

More than 15 years ago, a wide utility cut was made in front of our property at 3052 N Ramble Rd W in Blue Ridge Addition. We were told then that the street would be repaved and the gutter corrected. The path of the gutter to the storm drain at the corner never allowed the water to go to the drain because it dipped and didn't allow the water to travel because of that. It also stopped at our mailbox and creates quite the ice pond in the winter. When they came to repave our street, I spoke with the gentlemen doing the paving and asked if they were going to fix the gutter as well. (And let it be said how grateful I am for the repaving!!! Bravo!!!). I was told that was a different department. I had quit cleaning the gutter , tho I had kept it clean for years, as I grew weary of the bad street crumbling into the gutter. I was not going to clean it of street crumblings and pay to have it taken away in my trash anymore. Now the gutter, having been cleaned to apply the asphalt, still does not run to the drain because the slope has never been addressed. Why they didn't see this when they were going through the neighborhood fixing gutters, I don't know. I never saw the gutter crew around our property so I didn't ask. Can something be done? I don't like having guests parking in a lake. And the winter danger to come is not acceptable. Thank you for anything you can do for this problem.
