Hi there! My name is Melanie Nelson, I work in environmental services for Daly City. Our department is putting together a workshop on water conservation in the home as part of our "Going Green" series. We see it as a great way to protect the environment while also educating the community and saving them money, it's a win-win-win situation! Your page, http://bloomington.in.gov/waterwise , has been awesome as a guide for the event planning committee, and we can't thank you enough for posting it! The reason I'm emailing you is because a local middle school class has been helping us with the endeavor as a volunteer project and they (very proudly, I might add) found a great article here: http://www.improvenet.com/a/water-conservation-at-home . The article is a basic overview for children on water conservation in the home and its benefits, with links to several great sources for both children and adults. I think the kids would be absolutely stoked if you were to post a link to the article on your page, they love to help out wherever they can, and seeing the link on your page would show them that they've made a difference and their actions have had an impact (however small). I am a resident of Bloomington and live at: 3445 Constance Avenue I am enrolled in a college course called Environmental Technology. I have a project to perform and was asked by my instructor for the following items of the city where I live, Water Treatment Facility. 1. Types of pipe material 2. Initial cost of the water treatment system 3. Design water flow rate 4. Number of water towers and pumping stations 5. Problems with the system since it was built in 1967 6. Change in elevation from highest to lowest compared to where the location of water treatment facility 7. Types of disinfectant used I found three websites with a lot of information that I need but is there any other sites that would give me some of the answers to the questions listed above? This is a tree plot / water meter pit issue, a follow up on #168554. The meter in question is at 514 S Fess. You all couldn't it because someone---safety-conscious resident maybe, or self-motivated meter reader apparently had filled the hole in with dirt and tamped it tight. So, yes, resolved

Addendum to #168572. Another tree-plot hazard is a house or two south of 514 S Fess and is near the next water meter south of the one I first reported. It is a hole 12 - 18 inches deep beside the sidewalk. The photo show that it is roughly the distance from my foot to mid-calf. Thanks.

The construction on 10th street near the post office is absolutely unacceptable. Not only has it blocked traffic for weeks in front of where I live at Woodbridge apartments, but today the water main was broken and the power was lost.. Whoever is in charge of the operation should be held responsible.
