Hello, For several months now I have noticed a large wet patch on the side of W. Bloomfield Rd in between the entrance to the Twin Lakes Rec Center and the entrance to the lower ball field. The water overflows onto the the west-bound lane of W. Bloomfield Rd as it runs down the hill. The fact that the area never dries up makes me think some sort of water line may be leaking. I just wanted to bring it to your attention because when winter really sets in I am concerned that west-bound lane will be a sheet of ice. Thanks for your time. Thanks, Matt

There is a broken water pipe near the fire hydrant where Circle Drive meets the 1800 block of Southdowns. Work was done previously to try and fix the problem, but the problem has returned or there is a new problem. I walk pass this site regularly, and water is present even when it has not rained for weeks. The pavement is beginning to show the effects of ever-present water.

The asphalt on South Clark was recently repaired (I assume because of a recent water main break), and the new asphalt has sunk in somewhat. It's not clear that it's safe. This is on the street at the end of a driveway between 126 and 128 South Clark Street.

There is water constantly flowing out of the ground on the alley east of 213 E. Cottage Grove about 40 feet north of the street. The water is bubbling up and flowing south to the street then flowing east to Lincoln. When it was cold recently a glacier formed there that was dangerous to walk or drive on. It i now getting swampy there - still dangerous but in a different way. Both City Utilities and property owner were notified, but it is not clear if anyone has determined where the water is coming from. Good to check the meters in the area, e.g., 701 N. Lincoln, 700 N. Washington, 706 N. Washington for any unexpectedly high usage.

Hello, I live at 404 E 1st Street and walk to work at the university. Since it has been raining steadily for days, the leaves have moved into the street gutters and are blocking/clogging the gutters and grated drains all throughout this neighborhood. With the new 2023 leaf recycling law, most of the neighborhood did not rake and remove the leaves (my neighbor at 402 has the front yard filled with leaves, a rental unit) and the recent windy weather has blown the leaves everywhere and now the rain has moved them into the areas that I mentioned. This problem is causing excessive water to gather on my property. Please send out crews this week to clean up the leaf problem before there is a major flood in this neighborhood because the forecast is for another 10 days of rain. Thank you, ELIDA C. Maybe a complex problem, but there is often standing water (rain or shine, but especially when it's been raining) on the sidewalk and the street in the block just east of Walnut on the south side of 12th Street. .

Complex, long-standing problem: water pools and has nowhere to drain to on Woodlawn just north of 12th Street and up against the south side of the RR tracks. This isn't such an issue when the temperature is reasonable, but when it freezes it poses a sliding risk when the train is approaching. Major accident just waiting to happen.
