Water smells like dirt. Literally like soil. It’s been this way for at least a week, and nothing has made it better. I’ve tried bleach in the drains, thinking it was the pipes.

Water running brown from al faucets in home. Have been calling the city for several hours and unable to reach anyone.
There appears to be a broken water main because water has been rising to the surface on my property the past 5 days. My front north sidewalk (photo attached), east sidewalk, and south concrete garage floor have been soaked for the past 5 days. My basement is dry and no pipes are leaking in my house. I live next to the lane that has a main water pipe underground. Please check this out as soon as possible. Thank you, Elida C. Behar March 5, 2024
Water running out of ground for a week.
During some construction of some sort, dealing with the power lines in the alley to the left of my house, the case must have been brittle and they broke the lid to the water mane. They put an orange traffic cone over the hole, but it did not help anything. Due to it being open to the elements. My water mane froze. Im not sure if there is anything that can be done. But if someone could come by, replace the cover, and fix the water issue, it would be very helpful. Due to this issue, we have no running water.
Two trucks with power line workers drove up the alley directly adjacent to our residence, 409 E. University st to work on the power lines behind our house. During this process the covering to what we believe is our main water pipe was broken. We believe this because since then our water has not worked. They placed an orange cone on top of the hole and we assumed that the city would be informed of the issue but our water is still not working. All of our bills are and have always been paid so we know it hasn't bee turned off and now that temperatures are above freezing we know that it wasn't a frozen pipe as there is no flooding.
Water shut off cover a wreck. Needs adjustment
The city water connection that is in my back yard is leaking water directly into ground, and charging me for it. If you pull off the top and remove the insulation in the iron-topped hole where water shutoff is, you will hear the constant leakage, and you can see it spraying out into the damp earth. No idea how long its been happening, but clearly for a while. It has the insulation wet, and that will freeze and cause further problems soon.
Thank you Kathleen for updating ticket 175079. This is a follow-up to your update. I do desire to remain anonymous on ureport system. These storm sewers have long been functionally abandoned and really do not act as "ditches" anymore. In fact some of them seem to not have an inlet. It was not so much that that I though they should be "clean out" but more like the sharp metal hazard should be addressed. The exposed tops of at least three culverts have rusted through creating what I consider "sharp rusty hazards". Replacing those culverts (or repairing the rusty sections) is what I was thinking. Or maybe rotating them 180 degrees so the rusty part is down? My concern with the cleanout solution is the neighbors might not like the excavation unless the hazards are removed. I do not think anyone is complaining about the fact the culverts might not be doing much to handle water run off. Again I just walk my dog along Dodds and that is when I spotted the harzards. I do not live at these residences. Thank you again for the consideration.
water draining into alley and into sidewalk area created pools.
