Mayor Hamilton I know your not in charge of I--69 but I work at Monroe Hospital and the intersection and overpass being built is taking far more time than it should. Some rumors I have heard its Political was the reason for it not getting done. The light was taken down at Vernal Pike and the over pass near there already done. I also feel I-69 should of been done in each section being done one at a time. Also there are so many roads in Bloomington that needs address---like Leonard Springs Rd its awful I have to drive it and I really feel for all the bus drivers--which I know is just one of many. Please don't let I-69 take away from fixing much needed other roads. Also Bloomington was once a great Manufacturing city ---we need more of those ---I don't like the fact that just like RCA--and Otis and now GE--are things of the past and putting government money to up keep those places and shut them down is totally not right. We are tax payers and were getting ripped off. I know this letter probably won't matter. Thanks for listening Jennifer Jennifer a

Thankfully the annexation without representation was blocked. Democrats confuse legality with morality. To increase taxes on someone without representation in the process is immoral. If annexation is so obviously right, why did the mayor seek to do so by involuntary annexation. The state law needs to be changed so people have a voice in the process. For a millionaire developer and a mayor to keep me from voting is undemocractic . For the Democrats in Bloomington to say they are for the little man and then turn around and pull such a stunt does not speak well of politics in the city of Bloomington.

The Commission on the Status of Children and Youth states it has a vacancy, but that is incorrect. Allen Bell is the commissioner who was just appointed to the commission, please add Allen, thanks. Nancy

Your homeless people problem within the city of Bloomington is out of control. It is ruining the city an it's image. Even Inpls TV news is bashing the city for it's pathetic attempt at dealing with the issue. People feel unsafe as do local students. Who gets the blame when something terrible does occur? The mayor's office has certainly known of this problem for quite some time now. It will be the mayor's office having to answer the questions of the victims whenever something does occur. Fix it. The people of Bloomington deserve better.

I have been visiting Bloomington frequently for the last 4 years and have never seen such awful behavior on the streets downtown. We strolled around after dinner and in every block there were people drinking from alcohol containers and dealing and doing drugs, in front of our eyes. Sad state of affairs, especially in Kirkwood and its corners. Not a single patrol car in the area while we were there. I called the police dispatch to let them know and the cop that answer acknowledged there is a problem but sounded indifferent and was kind of rude. Im not a resident but I am surely not coming back to the business in the area, unsafe for the community, its visitors and a threat to the city's youth.

Why is this being allowed? This is really disgusting. Advertising for having underage girls. It is sad that while we already have issues in the sexual assault realm that we are providing an environment for predators in the midst of the bar scene. Money seems to solve all issues.

Hello - I wanted to ask if the city could do a better job decorating for Christmas this year. We moved up from Florida last year and was very surprised that there was no Christmas tree in the city center, and meager decorations -- just some strings of white lights on the courthouse. It didn't feel festive or beautiful or special. It's important, maybe not for students, but for families, older people and also business owners, I would think, to have a festive, Christmas-y and beautiful downtown. Please, Bloomington, put up a big Christmas tree this year on or around the courthouse square, and have a special lighting ceremony, with Christmas and holiday music. And do Christmas decorations on the lamp posts on Kirkwood, and maybe string lights over the avenue (like in the photo attached here, of Clematis Street in West Palm Beach). It's these things that make a town really wonderful. Or not. Thank you, Margaret Menge

This Devta in the Mayor's office - testing to see who this issue goes to first when a user selects the "miscellaneous" category and the "other" department. Assume this is an issue for someone in ESD and re-assign to that department. Please do this within the Ureport system so I can see the thread of assignments. Many Thanks!

I am concerned that the city currently has no way to report ethical issues such as conflicts of interest, either anonymously or otherwise.

I am very concerned with the Mayor's comments about the Farmer's Market. You cannot have it both ways, you don't get to condemn white nationalists in one sentence and then welcome all in the next. I would like to see some clarification on what he meant by this statement. “As Mayor, I have spoken for our city to condemn white nationalism and white supremacists as a scourge on our country and our community, and to promise that we will do all we can to overcome their legacies and any current efforts,” said Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton. “We also want to assure that everyone knows that all are welcome in our inclusive Bloomington, and that our Farmers’ Market will embody those values of inclusion and welcoming, as well as be a safe space for all to gather, as our community expects every Saturday.” This reads like White Nationalists are welcome.
