What is Traffic Calming?
Traffic Calming aims to manage vehicular speeds and volumes. The greatest benefits of traffic calming are increased safety and comfort for all street users. Compared with conventionally designed streets, traffic calmed streets typically have fewer collisions, traffic-related injuries, and fatalities. The safety benefits come from greater driver awareness, shorter stopping distances, and less kinetic energy during a collision.
In conjunction with upcoming resurfacing along W. Countryside Ln., Pinehurst Dr., and Pine Meadows Dr., the City would like to analyze alternate and additional traffic calming infrastructure to promote safe and comfortable streets for all users.
