By Transit

The City Hall/ Showers Building complex is located on Bloomington Transit Route 2 West. There are opportunities for Indiana University Campus Bus riders to transfer to Bloomington Transit service on E 3rd Street, S Indiana Avenue, and W 7th Street.

Walking From the Courthouse Square

City Hall is a short walk from the Courthouse Square in downtown Bloomington. Starting at the northwest corner of the Square (intersection of N College Avenue and W 6th Streets), walk one block west on W 6th Street away from the Square. Turn right at N Morton Street and walk 2 1/2 blocks north to City Hall which will be on your left.

By Car

From the North

Traveling from Martinsville, IN and Indianapolis IN:

  • Follow Indiana State Road 37 south. Take the 2nd Bloomington exit, Indiana State Road 45 N 46 E towards Bloomington. (1.4 miles).
  • Turn RIGHT at the 2nd traffic light onto N College Avenue (1 mile). N College Avenue is a one-way street traveling south.
  • Turn RIGHT onto W 7th Street at a traffic light (one block).
  • Turn RIGHT onto N Morton Street at the 1st stop sign. (1 1/2 blocks) City Hall will be on your left on the west side of street.

From the South

Traveling from Bedford, IN:

  • Follow Indiana State Road 37 north towards Bloomington.
  • Take the State Road 45 E exit.
  • Turn LEFT at the top of the exit ramp at the light onto W Bloomfield Road.
  • Continue northeast on W Bloomfield Road (1.9 miles).
  • Turn LEFT on S Rogers Street at traffic light. (0.5 miles)
  • Turn RIGHT onto W 7th Street at 4-way stop sign (2 blocks)
  • Turn LEFT onto N Morton Street at 4-way stop sign. (1 1/2 blocks) City Hall will be on your left on west side of street.

From the East

Traveling from Nashville, IN:

  • Follow Indiana State Road 46 west towards Bloomington. The local street name becomes E 3rd Street at the intersection with State Road 446.
  • Continue on E 3rd Street (1.5 miles). State Road 46 splits from E 3rd Street at its intersection with the State Road 45 46 Bypass and S College Mall Road.
  • Continue straight on E 3rd Street. (1.8 miles)
  • Turn RIGHT onto N Walnut Street at a traffic light. (5 blocks)
  • Turn LEFT onto W 7th Street at traffic light. (2 blocks)
  • Turn RIGHT onto N Morton Street at the 1st stop sign. (1 1/2 blocks) City Hall will be on your left on the west side of street.

From the West

Traveling from Whitehall, IN and Ivy Tech:

  • Follow Indiana State Road 48 east towards Bloomington. The street name changes to W 3rd Street as you approach the junction of State Road 48 with Indiana State Road 37.
  • Continue straight on W 3rd Street. (1.5 miles). The road will curve to the left (north) and become N Adams Street after the intersection with S Patterson Drive.
  • Turn RIGHT onto W Kirkwood Avenue at the traffic light near the top of the hill. (0.6 miles).
  • Turn LEFT onto N Rogers Street at the next traffic light. (2 blocks)
  • Turn RIGHT onto W 7th Street at the 4-way stop sign. ( 2 blocks)
  • Turn LEFT onto N Morton Street at the 4-way stop sign. (1 1/2 blocks) City Hall will be on your left on the west side of street.

From the Southwest

Traveling from Bloomfield, IN, Monroe County Airport and Crane NSWC

  • Follow Indiana State Road 45 traveling east towards Bloomington. The road name changes to W Bloomfield Road at the junction with Indiana State Road 37.
  • Continue northeast W Bloomfield Road (1.5 miles) .The road name changes again to W 2nd Street at the intersection with S Adams Street.
  • Continue straight on W 2nd Street. (0.4 miles)
  • Turn LEFT onto S Rogers Street at a traffic light. (0.5 miles)
  • Turn RIGHT onto W 7th Street at 4-way stop sign (2 blocks)
  • Turn LEFT onto N Morton Street at 4-way stop sign. (1 1/2 blocks) City Hall will be on your left on west side of street.

From the Northwest

Traveling from Ellettsville, IN:

  • Follow Indiana State Road 46 east towards Bloomington.
  • Continue on State Road 46 east past the junction with Indiana State Road 37 and merging with State Road 45 North (Also known as the State Road 45 46 Bypass). (1mile)
  • Turn RIGHT onto N College Avenue at a traffic light. N College Avenue is a one-way street traveling south.
  • Turn RIGHT onto W 7th Street at a traffic light (one block).
  • Turn RIGHT onto N Morton Street at the 1st stop sign. (1 1/2 blocks) City Hall will be on your left on the west side of street.

From the Northeast

Traveling from Unionville, IN and Lake Lemon:

  • Follow Indiana State Road 45 south towards Bloomington. The local street name becomes E 10th Street near the intersection with N Russell Road.
  • Continue west on E 10th Street/State Road 45. (1.2 miles). State Road 45 splits from E 10th Street at the intersection with the State Road 45 46 Bypass.
  • Continue straight on E 10th Street. (2 miles)
  • Turn LEFT onto N Morton Street at the 4-way stop sign. (2 blocks) City Hall will be on your right on the west side of street.

Alternate Route: E 10th Street can be very congested on weekdays when the University is in session. As an alternative, take a right on the State Road 45 46 Bypass. (2.2 miles) Turn LEFT onto N College Ave at a traffic light. ( 1 mile) Turn RIGHT onto W 7th Street at a traffic light. (1 block) Turn RIGHT onto N Morton Street at the 1st stop sign. (1 1/2 blocks) City Hall will be on your left on the west side of street.
