Green Acres Neighborhood Cleanup

The Green Acres Neighborhood Association hosted a Neighborhood Cleanup on Saturday, May 10, 2008. It was deemed a great success, with over three tons of trash, 800 pounds of metal, and many many tires collected! Lots of limbs and branches were turned into mulch, some of which was used by residents of the neighborhood. Participants were also able to rid themselves of hazardous materials such as old oil and gasoline, outdated medicines, and lawn chemicals. And the re-use area (for items too good to throw out) was a poplular place! Beautiful weather contributed to a terrific effort by the Neighborhood. The clean up was made possible by a grant from the HAND Department, which offers two such grants each year. [Neighborhood Clean-Up Grant Program|Neighborhood Clean-up Grant Program]
