Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department has announced the much-anticipated 'tot lot' playground at [Bryan Park|Bryan Park] is complete, and hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony June 11 to introduce the community to its newest play area.

The playground is intended for use by children between the ages of 2 and 5 years. The new playground replaced outdated equipment that was removed last fall to make room for a variety of new features, including more swings and enhanced active and passive play areas.

Grownups were also considered in the playground design, and the new playground features shaded seating areas, stroller parking, more park benches and a nearby drinking fountain - accessible for both humans and dogs - located nearby.

"We solicited and received a considerable amount of public comment on this project," said Mick Renneisen, Director of the City Parks and Recreation Department. "We held a well-attended public meeting at Bryan Park last fall, and we're eager to show the community what has resulted from their input and interest."
