Bloomington, IN - Locally owned and operated real estate franchise F.C. Tucker/Bloomington, REALTORS® turns 20 this year. To celebrate its anniversary of serving the residential, investment and commercial real estate needs of Monroe County and the surrounding counties for the past two decades, the company has partnered with the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department to plant 20 elm trees along the hugely anticipated B-Line Trail, the city's three-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail now under construction.

Upon the completion of the B-Line Trail in 2011, the 20 donated native trees will be among the many new trees to line the trail between Second Street and Country Club Drive. A special ceremony occurred this morning, and the first of the 20 trees was planted along the downtown phase of the B-Line Trail between Eighth and Rogers streets behind City Hall. In addition, a plaque was placed beside the first tree in recognition of the donation made by F.C. Tucker.

"It's an honor to be a part of Bloomington and to have shared in the city's successes for the past 20 years," said John West, managing broker of F.C. Tucker. "We are committed to this community in which we live and work, and look forward to seeing the trees grow along the B-Line Trail.

We thank the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department for making this partnership a reality, and anticipate helping residents in Bloomington and surrounding areas with their residential, investment and commercial real estate needs for many more years. This truly is a special day for us."

The 3.1-mile B-Line Trail will connect to the two-mile Bloomington Rail Trail at Country Club Drive. The project broke ground in May 2008.

"Bloomington is fortunate to have local organizations and businesses that understand the importance of our community amenities, and I can't thank F.C. Tucker enough for their very special and very generous participation," said City of Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan. "These trees are an important part of the ongoing beautification efforts that will maek the B-Line Trail so unique."

City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department Director Mick Renneisen was among those in attendance at today's ceremony.

"We are thrilled that F.C. Tucker has partnered with the City to recognize its 20th anniversary by planting 20 trees along the B-Line Trail," said Renneisen. "As the first Tree City USA community to be reocngized in Indiana, Bloomington citizens have a passion for the preservation of greenspace as well as our urban forest. We greatly appreicate this gift and look forward to watching the trees and F.C. Tucker grow in the future."
