BEAD's January Exhibit to feature work from the Bloomington Boys and Girls Club

Bloomington, IN - BEAD will showcase paintings by members of the Bloomington Boys and Girls Club in a collaborative exhibit featuring artists between the ages of five and twelve.

The pieces for the show were created as part of the Boys and Girls Club ArtCore Program, sponsored by the City of Bloomington's Community Arts Commission. Works will include drawings, paintings, watercolors, mixed media, sculpture and several collaborative projects involving many Club members. The exhibit will be available to the public for the month of January in the City Hall Atrium, which is located in the main entrance of the Showers Building at 401 North Morton Street.

The mission of the Bloomington Boys and Girls Club is to "enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens." It provides local children with opportunities for growth, recreation and companionship through after school programs, sports programs and camps. General and membership information for the Bloomington Boys and Girls Club is available at [www.bgcbloomington.org|http://www.bgcbloomington.org].

An opening reception for the exhibit will be Friday, January 8th from 5 - 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. The exhibition will be open from January 4th through the 29th, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The City of Bloomington is committed to providing opportunities for Bloomington and area artists to exhibit artwork in the City Hall Atrium.
