Bloomington, IN - The [City of Bloomington Paks and Recreation Department|Parks & Recreation] is hosting a TV spin-off game show at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Friday evening, March 2 - and it promises to be one of the funniest and most exciting events the department will host this year!
A take from TV's "Minute to Win It" - a game show where contestants have one minute to successfully complete a specific challenge - the Parks Department's "60 Seconds to Win" will use the same games and setup as its Hollywood-born cousin. In fact, those who want to brush up on strategy for specific games can [find a list of all the games that will be played on game night, plus links to the "blueprints" that describe the rules of play.|6343]
"We held '60 Seconds to Win' for the first time in 2011," said Lynsie Haag, the mastermind behind the game scheme. "I don't know what was more fun: watching our contestants, randomly chosen from the audience, play games like 'Pink Elephant' and 'Dizzy Mummy', or watching the people in the audience make fun of and laugh at their friends on stage."
"60 Seconds to Win" is suitable for anything from family fun night to a cheap date to girls' night out. Admission is only $5 per person, or $7.50 for two people. And anyone who shows their IU ID (students, faculty, and staff all included) will receive not just one, but TWO tickets for the random draw that is used to select contestants to participate in each game.
"Show your IU ID," Haag said, "and double your chances of getting called on stage."
