Blooming Neighborhood Celebration announces annual event: "My Neighborhood's Pot Luck Idea"
Bloomington, Ind. - The City of Bloomington Department of Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) has announced the main event for this year's Blooming Neighborhood Celebration: "My Neighborhood's Pot Luck Idea." Residents are encouraged to share neighborhood projects with one another by submitting their ideas to HAND by May 3.
"My Neighborhood's Pot Luck Idea" will replace the annual awards ceremony this year. The goal of the event is to build a sense of camaraderie among neighborhood associations and to have residents share their ideas for community events as well as how they have made an idea work in the past.
HAND will furnish a one-page template for anyone who would like to submit an idea. Participants may enter as many ideas as they choose, and ideas may cover any topic. All Pot Luck ideas will be bound and made available at the Blooming Neighborhoods Celebration on June 1. The template is available at [online|bloomington.in.gov/bloomingneighborhoods2013] and submissions are due to Vickie Provine by May 3.
The event is open to all, and neighborhood residents are invited to host an information table to showcase their own neighborhoods. For more information or to RSVP for a table, please contact Provine, program manager for HAND, at 349.3505 or at [mailto:provinev@bloomington.in.gov].
