Bloomington, Ind. - Planning is nearly complete for the Bloomington Parks and Recreation's summertime series of free concerts in city parks, and a few more sponsors are needed to help bring all types of live music by local performers to the stage.

Concerts are planned to take place in Bryan Park, one of Bloomington's largest and most popular parks, on Sunday evenings throughout July and August. Concerts at The Waldron, Hill, and Buskirk Park, one of Bloomington's first parks and a lovely spot of greenspace downtown, take place on Friday evenings beginning in mid-June through the end of July.

Businesses and organizations who want to support local musicians and the arts, and who want to contribute to the social well-being of the community, can choose a style of music and performance from the Parks and Recreation Department's list of bands that have applied to participate in the series this year. Sponsors choose their price range, too, and can sponsor a musical performance for as little as $400.

Concert sponsors receive advertising benefits as well, from name recognition in the 4,000 concert schedule cards distributed throughout the community to a banner at the sponsored concert. Sponsors of concerts in Bryan Park receive a complimentary picnic shelter rental, where they can celebrate an evening of live music with clients and friends. Sponsors are also recognized by the performers and the evening's emcee.

Printing and promotional material deadlines are fast approaching, so sponsors are needed immediately in order to take full advantage of all the sponsor benefits. For more information about sponsoring a concert this summer, or for a list of bands and performance fees, contact Greg Jacobs with Bloomington Parks and Recreation at 812.349.3725 or e-mail [jacobsg@bloomington.in.gov|mailto:jacobsg@bloomington.in.gov]
