City of Bloomington Utilities Announces Fire Hydrant Maintenance for July 5-6


Bloomington, Ind. – The City of Bloomington Utilities will perform fire hydrant maintenance in the following areas beginning Thursday, July 5, and continuing through Friday, July 6. This fire hydrant maintenance schedule is subject to change if each day's work is not completed as scheduled or due to inclement weather. 


South Shields Ridge Road
Ramp Creek
Handy Road
Moffett Lane
Dogwood Estates
Fairfax Road/Church Lane to South Rogers Street
South Rogers Street, south of Church Lane, including Winding Brook
Admiral Glen Estates

Crews will flow and perform necessary maintenance on fire hydrants in the aforementioned areas.  Signage will be displayed in the affected areas on the day the fire hydrant maintenance takes place. Maintenance crews also will carry proper identification.

Customers may experience fluctuations in pressure and/or discoloration of their water during hydrant maintenance. Any customer experiencing discolored water is advised to run their cold water tap until it clears. During periods of discoloration, any customer experiencing discolored water is advised to postpone washing clothes and limit their use of hot water until the cold water clears.
