City Announces Spring Cleanup at Rose Hill, White Oak Cemeteries

Bloomington, Ind.—The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department is conducting a spring cleanup of Rose Hill and White Oak Cemeteries throughout the month of March.

According to Parks and Recreation Department operations coordinator Barb Dunbar, the annual cleanup includes removing and disposing of floral arrangements and grave decorations that are broken or do not meet cemetery guidelines. Families are asked to take home decorations they wish to keep.

Decorations may be replaced beginning April 1, and will remain until the October cleanup.

Rose Hill and White Oak Cemeteries do not permit shepherd's hooks, or glass decorations of any kind. All hooks and glass containers will be removed from grave sites. Shepherd's hooks may be claimed at the Rose Hill Cemetery office at 930 W. Fourth St.; glass decorations will be disposed of.

Contact the Rose Hill Cemetery office at 812-349-3498 or barberj@bloomington.in.gov with questions about Rose Hill or White Oak Cemeteries or the spring cleanup.
