Mayor Hamilton to Present Fifth State of the City Address Thursday at Buskirk-Chumley Theater

WHAT: Mayor John Hamilton presents his fifth annual State of the City address to the community.  All are invited to attend the free event, which will also include live musical entertainment, a short story reading, and a slide show of community portraits.  Before and after the program, those attending may have their own portrait made in a free photo booth in the lobby, and learn more about participating in the 2020 Census. The event will be convened and adjourned by the Bloomington Common Council, for which it serves as an official meeting.  Simultaneous interpretation in American Sign Language will be provided.  Reservations are not required to attend this event.

WHO: In addition to Mayor Hamilton’s annual address, the event will include a call to order of the Bloomington Common Council, performances by Mariachi Perla del Medio Oeste, of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music's Latin American Music Center, and the John Layton Quintet, of Bloomington High School North, and the reading of an original short story by Juliana Crespo, of Bloomington High School South’s English department.   

WHEN: Thursday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 East Kirkwood Avenue.  Additionally, the State of the City program will be broadcast live by Community Access TV Services (CATS).
