BPD Investigating July 6 Incident to Identify and Locate Driver Who Struck Pedestrians

Bloomington, Ind. - The Bloomington Police Department (BPD) is currently conducting an investigation to determine the identity and location of the driver (and passenger) of a vehicle that drove into pedestrians last night after a peaceful rally on the courthouse square, injuring two pedestrians, before leaving the scene. The BPD is proceeding as swiftly as possible to ensure that a thorough investigation is completed and presented to the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office so a determination can be made regarding the appropriate criminal charges to be filed.

One pedestrian suffered abrasions to the arms and the other was said to have been knocked unconscious by the vehicle, suffering a laceration to the head.  The second pedestrian was transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of injuries.

The City of Bloomington urges anyone with relevant information about the incident to share it with the BPD.
