Bloomington’s Catalent to Hire 1,000 New Employees at Average Wages of $32 an Hour or More, and Invest at Least $350 Million

Bloomington, Ind.–This morning brought very exciting news: Catalent Pharma Solutions has formally signed an agreement to bring a $350 million expansion to Bloomington, including at least 1,000 new high-quality jobs paying an average of $32 per hour.

Thank you to the Bloomington City Council; City staff; and our partners, the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation, Indiana Economic Development Corporation, members of the Economic Development Commission, representatives and staff at the County, and other local economic development partners. Each of them helped bring a brighter future to Bloomington by shaping and steering this opportunity.

Catalent’s expansion along with the vitality of our region's other established life sciences manufacturers will support healthy growth for our whole community. This is an historic win for the people of Bloomington and the entire region.

“We sincerely appreciate the chance to work with an employer of this caliber who is choosing to make the largest investment in technology, equipment, and new high-wage jobs in our recent history,” said Mayor John Hamilton.
