Bloomington Transit Celebrates 23 Year Anniversary of Stuff-A-Bus

Bloomington, Ind.– To mark the 23rd anniversary of the Stuff-A-Bus, Bloomington Transit will partner with Hoosier Country 105.1 and B97, with all donations going to the Monroe County Indiana Department of Child Services to help make the holidays merrier for children and families in need in our community.

We have made some changes to Stuff-A-Bus to protect our community, volunteers, and coworkers. There will be a bin placed in the front of the door of the bus for contact-free donations. We have also created contact-free shopping experiences through Amazon. The Amazon link allows people to purchase items from a registry that will be maintained throughout the Stuff-A-Bus event and those items will be sent directly to us via Amazon. The Amazon link to purchase items is https://bton.in/m4!a4.

Bloomington Transit will unveil the festively decorated Stuff-A-Bus on December 1 at Target at 2966 E 3rd Street. The Stuff-A-Bus will visit a number of shopping centers and retail locations throughout Bloomington from December 1-10. The goal is to literally “STUFF” the decorated Bloomington Transit bus completely full of donated, unwrapped new toys, clothes, books, children’s coats, gloves, and mittens.

Last year with the help of area stores and our generous community, we were able to collect over 5,000 new toys, stuffed animals, new coats, hats, and mittens for children and families in our community. The donated items will be distributed to the Indiana Department of Child Services in Monroe County to make the holiday brighter for children in need in Monroe County.

Stuff-A-Bus is made possible, in part, by volunteers who staff the bus and accept donations. Without this assistance, Stuff-A-Bus would not be possible. Contact Brenda Underwood at 812-961-0523 for volunteer opportunities.

Persons wishing to make a donation to Stuff-A-Bus can drop off their items at the bus during the days and locations listed below. If persons can’t make it to the Stuff-A-Bus, they can drop off their donations at Bloomington Transit’s main office at 130 West Grimes Lane; or schedule a pick-up by contacting Brenda Underwood at 812-961-0523.
