City Commission On The Status Of Women Announces The 2024 Women’s History Month Luncheon

The City of Bloomington Commission on the Status of Women announces the 2024 Women’s History Month Luncheon, which will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Monroe Convention Center, located at 302 S College Ave in Bloomington.

The national theme of Women’s History Month this year is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” The theme recognizes women throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions.

This year’s keynote presenter is Karrah Herring, J.D. In November 2020, Governor Eric Holcomb appointed Ms. Herring to his cabinet as Indiana’s first-ever Chief Equity, Inclusion and Opportunity Officer. Ms. Herring is a native and resident of South Bend, IN. She received her undergraduate degree from Purdue University, and received her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law.

The luncheon will also recognize the 2024 Women’s Achievement Award winners, which include the following award categories: 2024 Woman of the Year, the Toby Strout Lifetime Contribution Award, and the Emerging Leader Award. The winners of these awards will be announced soon!

Additionally, women owned-businesses and local organizations for women are invited to reserve exhibit space for the luncheon. Exhibits will be available for viewing by luncheon attendees prior to the start of the program.

Sponsorship opportunities are available to businesses and organizations. Those interested in sponsoring the luncheon, may complete a sponsorship form.

Doors to the luncheon will open at 11:15 a.m., with the program beginning at 12:15 p.m. The cost of tickets is $35.00 per seat or $350.00 for a reserved table for eight. Tickets must be reserved in advance through the BCT Box Office located at 114 E Kirkwood Ave, or online at the BCT website. Tickets are available beginning February 5th. The deadline to purchase tickets is March 20, 2024 at 5 p.m. Scholarships are available for individuals that need assistance purchasing a seat to attend the lunch.
