Utilities Bulk Water Station on South Walnut Street Temporarily Out of Service

The City of Bloomington Utilities, also known as CBU, announced that the bulk water station located at 3220 South Walnut Street is currently out of service due to an issue with the facility’s payment system. Repairs are not expected to be completed until 2027.

The station typically provides water to customers who need to fill large water tanks, such as landscaping or power washing companies. During this extended outage, those customers will need to transition to using hydrant meters to purchase bulk water from CBU. 

CBU staff are available to assist customers with hydrant meter availability, rental requirements, and the setup process. The utility recognizes the importance of reliable access to bulk water and is committed to supporting customers during this temporary service change.
