About Scholarships
- Need is the primary criterion upon which scholarships are considered. Accepted participants are expected to pay their portion of the program fee at the time of registration. No full scholarships will be awarded.
- Scholarships are not guaranteed and are available on an as-needed basis.
- Bloomington Parks Foundation cannot provide scholarships for programs when primary costs are contractual (e.g. performances, tickets or admissions), or for programs not conducted by parks and recreation (e.g. Bloomington Blades ice hockey, Monroe County Youth Baseball).
- Scholarships are not available for special registration fees or late fees.
- Bloomington Parks Foundation reserves the right to limit the amount of scholarships awarded to an individual during the program session, particularly if the demand for scholarships is high. No child will be awarded more than $500 per calendar year.
- Approval of any scholarship application does not automatically register that person into the program of choice. Registration for any program is the responsibility of the family requesting assistance. All payments must be received prior to registration deadlines and participation.
- Scholarship applications will be accepted until two weeks prior to the program start date.
- Confidentiality: All information provided will only be used to determine the level of scholarship awarded.
