Bloomington Arts Commission Announces 2024 Advancement Grant Cycle

The Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC), in collaboration with the City of Bloomington, has announced its 2024 Artistic Advancement grant cycles to support local artists. All grants awarded will be for the amount of $1,000. Applications will be accepted from Mon. Aug. 12 to Fri. Sept. 20, 2024. More information regarding the grant cycle and the application form is available at cityofbloomington.smapply.io/prog/2024_aa_grant.

Formally called the Emerging Artist Grant, the Artistic Advancement grant funds the professional career advancement of artists living and working in Bloomington, Indiana, and may be used for any expenses related to their work as an artist. Artists may practice any generally recognized art form, including but not limited to music, visual arts, performing arts, film, architecture, literature, etc. Recipients are eligible to receive the Artistic Advancement Grant twice. Prior Emerging Artist grant awards count toward this total.

Bloomington Arts Commissioners will also hold office hours for anyone interested in discussing the application process between Monday, August 19 and Monday, September 16. Please contact Holly Warren, Assistant Director for the Arts and Staff Liaison to the Bloomington Arts Commission at holly.warren@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3534 to schedule an appointment with a commissioner.
