If you're doing any construction or remodeling you'll additionally need the Planning Department to issue you the following things:
- Sign Permit
- Street Cut or Driveway Permit
- Grading Permit (for new construction)
To do any construction, whether that's interior remodeling or building a new building, you'll need a building permit from the County Building Department.

Prior to issuing you a building permit the Monroe County Building Department will require you to provide them with the following materials:
At Application Submittal
- Application for Commercial Building Permit
- Tax identification Parcel Number (10 digit)
- Four (4) sets of Building Plans
- Four (4) Site Plans
- Copy of Deed for Property
- Construction Design Release Number
- Authorization to Connect to the City of Bloomington Utilities Sanitary Sewer
