The Butler Park playground was installed in 2021.Playground: The playground at Butler Park was replaced in 2021. Playground surfacing is Fibar engineered wood fiber. There are four swings; two regular sling swings, one infant swing, and a face-to-face buddy swing. There is also a free-standing pyramidal rope climber.

Parking: One small parking lot near the intersection of West Ninth Street and North Elm Street. The lot has no marked parking spaces and no designated accessible parking spaces. This lot is adjacent to the Butler Park Community Gardens. A second parking lot for approximately eight vehicles is located on North Fairview Street, north of West Ninth Street, This lot is on the east end of the park and is adjacent to the playground. 

Restrooms: Located along Ninth Street. Restrooms are accessible, and are open seasonally (April through October) and when there is a special event at Butler Park. The restrooms are located approximately .13 mile on asphalt park paths from the parking lot near the playground and from the parking lot near the community garden.

Drinking water: Drinking fountains are located near the restrooms, available seasonally (April through October)

Picnic Shelters: There are two small picnic shelters at Butler Park. Neither shelter is reservable. See a list of reservable shelters in Bloomington's city parks. Shelter 1 can be accessed with a combination of about 586' of concrete sidewalk and asphalt path from the parking lot near the playground on North Fairview Street. There is no paved or other hard-surface access to Shelter 2 in Butler Park.

Baseball/softball field: Butler Park ballfield is available for rent seven days a week. The ballfield has a 200' fence. The field is unlighted and rents for $10/hour. For reservation information, email Cody Martin or call 812-349-3774.

Basketball courts: Basketball court with two goals along Ninth Street, west of the restroom building and east of the ballfield.

Ninth Street Loop Trail: This looping trail borders the open spaces of Rev. Ernest D. Butler Park. A portion of the trail doubles as a sidewalk (4/10 mile). Fitness stations are located just off the trail, near the restroom building.

B-Line Trail: The 3.1-mile B-Line Trail intersects with Fairview Street just north of 10th Street.
