Job Description

Aquatics Specialist

Duties

Responsible for the management of on-site pool operations and aquatics staff. Interprets and enforces all departmental rules and policies; compiles and balances daily pool deposits; supervises, schedules and evaluates employees and programs; ensures facility safety and cleanliness; maintains accurate records; treats accidents and injuries; fosters good public relations, enforces rules and safety policies, all other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Skills and Knowledge

Lifeguard training required; previous guarding experience desirable. Applicants should be able to swim 300 yards in less than 6 minutes. Lifeguard certification is required. Classes will be offered by the department. Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred. Ability to obtain this certification required.

Working Conditions

Employee performs duties in and out of doors, in varying weather conditions, and is periodically exposed to work sites with traffic, noise, dust, and vehicle and equipment fumes.

Hours

Approximately 30-50 hours per week, including days, evening, weekends and holidays. Must be able to attend all Department pre-season training programs conducted in May. Training takes place with current Aquatics Specialist before taking over position end of July.

$25.39 per hour
