Position Description

Referees youth basketball games, enforces IHSAA and Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department league rules.

Education

High school education or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Some college preferred.

Experience/Special Skills

Previous officiating experience preferred. Ability to work well with people, to be able to make quick, accurate and firm decisions. Knowledge of basketball rules preferred. Experience officiating sports.

License/Certification

IHSAA basketball license required; can be obtained through Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department.

Hours

5:30-10 p.m. weekenights and some Saturdays. Two to 10 hours/games per week, October through mid-March. No games on holidays, Indiana University basketball home game nights or school holiday breaks.

Salary

$18 per game
