The Polly Grimshaw Trail (0.65) is a short paved route that provides a crucial link from the city’s east side to State Route 45, close to Indiana University. The trail runs between apartments and an active rail line. In the east, the path originates in Park Ridge Park, which offers playground equipment and a small picnic shelter.

Parking for the Polly Grimshaw Trail can be found on-street along Longview Avenue near Park Ridge Park.

The entire length of the Polly Grimshaw Trail is wheelchair accessible.

History

The Polly Grimshaw trail was built in 1976 and was named after a librarian at Indiana University as a way to honor her efforts to provide a safe path for pedestrians to get to the University.
