Important COVID-19 Information

Along with federal, state, and local agencies, the City of Bloomington is implementing protocols to maintain continuity of city government services to support the community’s well-being and protect residents’ and employees’ health during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. 

At the City of Bloomington, the health and safety of our community, team members, and their families remains our top priority. The parking garages will remain open and available for all of our guests until further notice. As this highly dynamic situation evolves, we continue to monitor and adapt our approach to serve the best interests of our community as new solutions and information become available.

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION DURING COVID-19

As of April 1, 2020 unused individual parking passes were suspended you must request reactivation. You will not be required to maintain your monthly parking payment if the pass is not in use.  If you need to cancel your parking, you may do so by emailing a cancellation request to dailyr@bloomington.in.gov. In your email, please make sure you provide your first and last name. Thank you for your patronage and we look forward to continually serve our community.

Instructions for Purchasing a Monthly Garage Parking Permits

Due to COVID-19 and the City of Bloomington utilizing social distancing practices, no parking garage card access passes will be issued in person - these passes will be mailed instead.

Step 1: The person applying for the parking space will need to complete a City of Bloomington parking contract. Click on this link to download a copy of the parking contract.

Step 2: Fill out the parking contract. Save and e-mail the parking contract to Ryan Daily, Garage Manager, at dailyr@bloomington.in.gov.  

Step 3: The applicant will be contacted via phone to provide automatic payment information, or they may elect to pay for their parking fee over the phone during this time. The monthly parking garage pass will be mailed to the address provided on the contract. If you have questions, you may contact customer service at (812) 349-3622.

All parking citations/tickets must be paid or under appeal to be eligible to purchase a garage access card.

Purchases of spaces are on a first come, first serve basis.  It is suggested to complete parking arrangements by August 1, 2020, due to garage spaces being limited.

  • Non-Reserved - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - $101.00
  • Non-Reserved - 12 hours a day, Monday - Friday, 5 days a week - $54.00
  • Reserved - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - $116.00
  • Reserved - 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, Monday - Friday, 5 days a week - $76.00

 

2021 Garage Permit Rates*

  • Non-Reserved - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - $104.00
  • Non-Reserved - 12 hours a day, Monday - Friday, 5 days a week - $56.00
  • Reserved - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - $119.00
  • Reserved - 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, Monday - Friday, 5 days a week - $78.00

 

Public Garages:

Pay to park, gated and monitored 24/7 at $0.50 per hour. 

Sundays are free to park at all garages; 1 hour free parking is available Monday through Saturday at all garages*.

4th Street Garage is unavailable and is currently being replaced: The entrance is located on 4th Street between Walnut Street and College Avenue. Ideal parking for the Courthouse Square and Kirkwood Avenue.

Morton Street Garage: The entrance is located on Morton Street between 6th Street and 7th Street. Ideal parking for the Farmers' Market, City Hall, and the B-Line Trail.

Walnut Street Garage: The entrance is located on Walnut Street between 7th Street and 8th Street. Ideal parking for Bloomington Playwrights Project, the Courthouse Square, shops on North Walnut, etc.

* This program will sunset January 2021 and regular garage hourly rates will apply on Saturdays.
