Ready - Set - Mark!
Are you ready to mark some storm drains?
You may actually be wondering what the program is all about. Basically, you will be taking markers that look like this (rectangular or round)...
...and applying them to select storm drains. You even get to choose which storm drains you would like to mark (or, we will suggest an area if you prefer). The program is ideal for neighborhoods, service organizations, scouts, and more.
Why do we do this? The endeavor strives to improve the water quality of our streams while reducing flood risk in our community.
Watch this video to learn more about the program. (add the video once receive a URL)
The only prerequisite for storm drain marking is to have a genuine concern for the well-being of our community.
Duties include:
- Marking storm drains with "stickers",
- clearing storm drains when needed, and
- reporting any storm drain or stormwater concerns.
So, round up some neighbors, colleagues, friends, co-workers, and/or other and get in touch with us.
To apply, simply fill out the "Sign-up to volunteer" form available at the green button, above. We will receive notification that you have completed the form and be in touch with you asap to answer questions and provide training. Then, you will be ready to start!
