Who would I contact about working with the Movies in the Park program for 2016? I am an archivist at the Black Film Center/Archive at IU and our staff is interested in learning more about how we could become involved with the city to program a film featuring African American artists. Is there an official proposal form or guidelines?
Thanks!

I don't have an issue to report. I am trying to locate any art classes that the rec centers may have but I must be overlooking any link this website has. I can only find sport or outdoor activities programs. Would you send me a link, please?

The swim lessons my child just completed at Bryan Park Pool were very poor. First of all, the instructor did not teach them anything. There was no instruction, the kids were just told "do X" but weren't given steps how to do it. The class was supposed to be 45 minutes, but they changed it to 30 minutes--which I believe was due to the inexperience of the instructor, she didn't know what to do with the kids. The rules about make-up classes needs to change, we paid full price for 3 classes instead of 8 due to the weather, which most of the days they still had class despite the fact that it was raining/storming/freezing! Completely disappointed, would not recommend these classes to anyone.

Hello!
I am inquiring about two $10 registrations for which I would like a refund. On 8/21 I registered my son for two nature classes that were part of the Junior Rangers program. These were 340002-A and 340002-B. On 9/5 the instructor of the program called me and said (in a voice mail message) that he had info saying my son was registered for a class and that they were "cancelling the program due to lack of enrollment". I inquired once before via the "contact us" portion of the registration website, but this was a couple of weeks ago and have not yet been contacted. I hope this method of contact can lead to the two $10 refunds and a resolution.
Thanks!

Are there any tennis courts with free lights at night? Grew up near one that you pressed a button for thirty minutes of lights. Was awesome. Hope there is around here

Trivia at Switchyard I assume will have the bay doors open to help with airflow to keep teams safer from COVID? Thank you! Good location if so. If not planning on it, please open them.

I have two questions.
1. Can you reassure me that there will be programming in Bryan Park this spring/summer? I was disappointed to see that 90% of the winter programming is in Switchyard Park. I understand that it is new and exciting and has a lot of amenities but I really hope the other parks don’t get overlooked.
2. To whom do I speak about getting permission to install a temporary poetry hike in Winslow Woods? I would like to install cardboard signs on wooden stakes at half a dozen spots along the trail with a nature short poem on each. My initial thought was to do it for the Bloomington Montessori School (which my child attends) but I’d be happy to promote it more widely and it would certainly be available to anyone. Thank you.

I am a parent of three children participating in swim lessons at Bryan Park pool. I have several concerns with the lack of training and the ratios of children to instructors, especially in the level 1 class. The instructors are very nice, but clearly have not had instruction or training on how to conduct a swim class. My son in level one had about 14 kids in his class to one instructor. This is a safety issue in itself, but he also had very little instruction or even pool time during his lesson. He sat on the wall with his feet in the water 99% of the time other than when it was his turn to be dipped into the water for a few seconds. Additionally, in the toddler/guardian class, our poor instructor had just discovered she was teaching the class right before the class began. Needless to say, she was not prepared and did not have anything as far as activities pre-planned for the class. I understand that finding instructors may have been difficult this year, however, if a program is being offered especially ones that have a fee, I feel that there is an expectation for there to be some quality and training involved. Learning to swim is an extremely important skill that I would hope Parks and Rec would ensure to be a quality controlled program with many weeks prior training. Please consider implementing more staff and age and swim level specific training before swim sessions begin for these instructors in future sessions. Thank you for your time.
