Sidewalk directly east of/ next to Noodles Restaurant building @ 517 E. Kirkwood is completely dark afer 5:30 pm. Last night, there were people in the tree/shrub area as we walked toward the restaurant, hidden from view. Construction tarp along this sidewalk makes walking along this strip between building potentially dangerous. There is no lighting coming off of the building or the construction site/lot. Suggest some type of lighting from building or IU lot now storing construction materials.

Allen st greenway. Eastbound at walnut, the beg button is AWOL. It was too far from the roadway to be pushed by a cyclist anyways. The two-stage crossing (beg button in the refuge island) is worth nothing to me because I can only push it if my kids (trailer) are hanging out in the southbound traffic lanes. There is literally no traffic calming for northbound traffic on walnut here, which is still largely unwilling to yield even when the lights are in operation. The stop signs at Washington and Lincoln are facing the wrong direction. It is important to make allen inconvenient to drivers, but it is also essential to make it super convenient (and safe) for cyclists. The routes through bryan park suck for cyclists. Just reiterating a bunch of notes in case excellence ever becomes an interest of the city. Thanks!

Resident requested a crosswalk be painted for child safety on E Morningside across Sheffield. Asked the neighborhood association to do it but I figure we need to run that by the City first. If that's something you can do or authorize. A street art one would be awesome but normal is fine too. The striping on the crosswalks of N Smith and Morningside is getting a little worn again too.

See case 177221 https://bloomington.in.gov/crm/tickets/view?ticket_id=177221 The resolution here is disappointing. Cyclists need to be able to clear intersections before lights turn red. For reference, my bike weights in at about 30 pounds and is not lightweight.

Please finish the new bike path on S High street quickly. The unfinished section between Wimbleton and Meadowbluff has been a hassle, but its now getting dangerous as children and families have to walk on high street to get around construction. This needs to be resolved immediately.

It is very hard right now to cross from bikes or walking across east third. The crossing at third and Smith is not well marked and has no crossing signal. We bike on Longview Greenway but are feeling concerned with the car focused development just approved by planning commission. We need safe biking and walking and reasonable vehicular congestion. Please help and don't punt this off as a state issue after you narrowed east third while massively increasing density. Those are fine but do so in a way that keeps neighborhood safe and still connected to town.

At the following addresses, the clearance space above the sidewalk surface and the bottom of the tree canopy is quite a bit lower than the eight feet stipulated in Section 12.24.040(2) of Bloomington’s Municipal Code. The low bottom of the tree canopy at these addresses blocks the sidewalk and represents a safety hazard for pedestrians and runners. Could you please look into this issue? The Bloomington Bagel Company at 113 N. Dunn Street recently installed giant umbrellas on their outdoor patio tables. As a result, the tables and chairs are extending into the pedestrian right of way on the sidewalk. The umbrellas are also not tall enough to safely walk under. It appears to be presenting several hazards and blocking safe access for pedestrians and individuals who use wheelchairs.
