RRFB at allen&walnut doesn't work - northbound traffic does not yield. Went through twice on bike at about 9:30-10AM today (June 18), activated the beacon, and both times, SB traffic yielded and NB did not *at all*. I did not investigate the flawed design - that's planning&transportation's job.
The current congestion on W Bloomfield Rd., west of Highway 37, seems to be caused in part by the timing of traffic signal here (the intersection of W. Bloomfield Rd., S. Basswood Dr., and S. Oakdale Dr.), Almost all the traffic here is east-west on Bloomfield Rd. There is very little traffic on Basswood Dr. or Oakdale Dr. But the but the traffic signal stays green for a very long time for the south traffic on Basswood Dr. and the north traffic on Oakdale Dr. I think the congestion of Bloomfield Rd. would be alleviated somewhat if the traffic signal at this intersection were reset so that it stayed green longer for the ease-west Bloomfield Rd. traffic. Crossing 11th under the train bridge is dangerous. Vehicles cannot see the pedestrian crossing on the other side of the bridge. We should have flashing pedestrian lights that a pedestrian can activate when crossing 11th on either side of the bridge. Lights similar to 4th and Rodgers would be perfect.
The new traffic light's timing is too short for traffic traveling east/west on Bloomfield Road. At best it stays green for 20 seconds before switching to red to let 1 or two cars from the Sportsplex/Millennium Apartment's go. Traffic westbound is worse than it was before the installation of the light, somehow.
New light at intersection of w. 2nd and Twin lakes rec center is too short and causing major delays to the east.
The new stop light on second street at the Sports Complex is causing traffic to back up in both directions at 8 am and 5 pm. If the light were to be flashing during those heavy traffic times, it would be a tremendous help. I work at the IMA building on Landmark Ave. I couldn't even get out of the parking lot for 10 minutes last evening. It took another 10 minutes to get to the stop light. This is not acceptable. Thank you.
I want to thank the city for installing traffic lights at the exit of Twin Lakes Rec Center, at the intersection of Bloomfield Rd and Rolling Ridge Dr. They are a big help to me when I need to make a left turn from the TLRC. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Please decrease the the amount of time that the green light is on for the Rolling ridge / twin lakes light side. I'm my opinion a 20 second time frame is a better time Please and thank you.
Can we please set the traffic lights on 10th street back to the automatic change when a car pulls up. I know the 10th and Union st light has still not been fixed, but the light at 10th and Jordan as well as 10th and Fee continually cycle through full walk cycles 24 hours a day. Pretty please with sugar on top!
