need a crosswalk signal/light across 10th from range road. Saw a family with stroller coming from apartments almost get hit by a car as they tried to cross 10th against right turning cars at stop light. We have sidewalks on both roads, both sides, yet no crosswalk signals.
Left turn arrow for 7th onto college does not work. Waited two green light cycles and never got a green arrow.
Traffic signal at E Third St and Kingston Dr. has timing issues, observed daily for over a week: east/west signal activates left-turn indicator each cycle, when no cars have been in the left turn lane; north/south green light stays on for two minutes, even when no traffic is present for most of that time. I have observed significant traffic delays because of these timing issues. Thank you for checking.
Please place a stop sign at 7th and Hillsdale. It would prevent speeding in the neighborhood and help the bikers on the trail to cross safely.
Backed up West bound traffic on Bloomfield Road is made a bit worse with the lights here off sensor during construction. The timing is providing more time than needed for cross traffic and turn lane, should be set much longer for E-W Bloomfield. The light further east at Twin Lakes has very sensitive sensor for cross traffic, also adding to the backup, could let the cross traffic wait longer and reset if they escape with a right turn on red to keep the E-W flow going if it can.
Timing improvement college mall road/coventanter stop light - before 7am eastbound covenanter gets green light, then westbound even if no one is there, then there are turn arrows.....makes for a long light for stopped College Mall Road vehicles when traffic is very light at that time of day.
The current congestion on W Bloomfield Rd., west of Highway 37, seems to be caused in part by the timing of traffic signal here (the intersection of W. Bloomfield Rd., S. Basswood Dr., and S. Oakdale Dr.), Almost all the traffic here is east-west on Bloomfield Rd. There is very little traffic on Basswood Dr. or Oakdale Dr. But the but the traffic signal stays green for a very long time for the south traffic on Basswood Dr. and the north traffic on Oakdale Dr. I think the congestion of Bloomfield Rd. would be alleviated somewhat if the traffic signal at this intersection were reset so that it stayed green longer for the ease-west Bloomfield Rd. traffic. To whom it may concern: I'm writing today about the intersection of S. Hillsdale Dr and E 3rd St in Bloomington, Indiana. Specifically, I'm concerned with the functioning of the traffic signal at that intersection. In short, because the stop line is set pretty far back on Westbound lane of E 3rd St, Westbound drivers rushing through the yellow light have to go a very long way, much longer than those of us using the yellow to make a left turn northbound onto Hillsdale (when there is traffic, there is no choice except making left on the yellow). I'm not doing a great job explaining it here but given the long set-back, it seems odd that both of those lights turn yellow at the same time. I'd be happy to explain better via phone and/or someone could easily observe this dynamic at said intersection. Thanks
The traffic light at this intersection (S. Bryan Ave/High St & E. 3rd) has a very short timing on the Bryan Ave/High st. side, especially during rush hour. Traffic is nearly always backed up after 5pm due to the lights only being green for ~5 seconds, while the 3rd street lights are green for far longer. This is a problem for those of us coming off campus for the day at 5 as both roads get lines of traffic. If it would be possible to extend the length of the green light for these two 'side' roads for longer so traffic had more of a chance to clear, it would help ease congestion on these roads.
The traffic lights on 3rd street between college and grant seem to be off where they are not properly coordinating together. Every morning between 6:30-7:00 I have had difficulty because I will be at a red light with all lights ahead green. Then I get to the next red light and all lights ahead are green. So basically I have to stop and wait at each red light to get down 3rd street. This was not a problem before, mostly just in the past 1-2 weeks.
