Dear City of Bloomington Representative, Last night’s torrential rain brought a lot of water down our driveway from the street, some of which eventually ended up in our finished basement. We've lived at this address since 2009, and this has been a problem we've lived with since then. We’ve spent almost $15,000 on waterproofing our basement, installing storm drains at the bottom of our driveway, halfway down our driveway, and installing a berm on top of the driveway. Still, water that runs down the Anita Street takes a hard right into our driveway and overwhelms our systems. Anita Street slopes south to north, after it has turned from the east to west slope of East 2nd street. We believe a majority of the water coming down Anita Street actually ends up in our driveway. A lot of the water from the street also collects in the yard of our neighbor, Allyson Youat Schnable. Water that has come into our basement has damaged equipment, furniture, boxes and their contents, and is a threat to our foundation. I believe we have exhausted our options to comprehensively deal with the amount of storm water that is presented to us. We would love for the city to address the water coming down the street. The city has come out and measured several times for a culvert to be installed in front of my driveway. The problem is that the street is higher than my driveway and this house is at the bottom of a hill. When it rains all the debris from the street and houses above me come into my driveway. There is so much water that my basement can flood and the water level can easily reach several feet deep. I have at the moment blocks of stones in front of my driveway so that the debris and water keeps going down Mitchel street instead of blocking the small drainage grates that are in driveway. Probably not much can be done about this, but the new parking lot over the recently redone culvert downtown by People's Park has a low spot right where the diagonal path crosses through it. The low spot has been accumulating water after rains, and it seems the grading as it is prevents the water from going anywhere. Likely over time this will facilitate degradation of the pavement, but more importantly at present it creates a little lake that pedestrians and bicycles must travel through, and will probably produce a slick spot there when the temperature drops. Is there any way to have this area looked at and have it redone so that water drains away? Not clear if this is a City issue or not, given the entire lot is owned by IU.

When it rains, there is no drainage at this spot. All along the north side of 2nd from College to Rogers there are multiple areas of flooding on the street through this corridor.

Fallen utility lines on property. (I don't know who's, i've checked). None of my utilities are affected, but lines running across property. It may be phone service, cable service, television?

Attn Phil/ and ED, I have doubts a foot more will be deep enough. I have heard the roar of racing water in my backyard. It has moved some of the 30 to 40 pound stones I have placed to slow the erosion. Please consider a deep ditch. Thanks

Fiber co. Cut sidewalk. Someone came to patch with asphalt. Asphalt sunk immediately. Looks like a significant hole in sidewalk. Water meter appears to be affected as well - tilting towards the hole (did not use to).

Note location should be Winslow Farm Community Association storm water retention pond (DO NOT contact this home address). Note: I live at 414 E Wylie Farm road. My question is should soil erosion in Winslow forest be abated since we have a lot of soil in our storm water detention pond that seems to highly likely have come from Winslow woods (accumulated since WFCA pond was constructed in 1995).

Water runoff is still an issue. I have reported this before and it is causing damage to my yard and basement. This area really needs a sidewalk or curb with storm drains.

Water form the neighborhood is flowing into my yard causing floods and interior damage once saturated. I have a lot of video evidence. I am trying to repair damage on my own, but I can't keep up.
